First let me say this, I was not expecting anything like what we have here. The first thing that jumped out at me was the aroma. The floral hop smell really comes out of this pour, which is very good. The pour is a clear amber color. You definitely get good head out of this one. At least 3 fingers if not more. I have it sitting right now in a pint glass and one thing I just noticed is the bubbles still going in there. If you have any of the new Sam Adams glasses it reminds me of what the glasses do there with the laster etching. The taste is very pleasant. It isn't too bitter yet not too sweet. Make no mistake the hops are there to be enjoyed. It doesn't leave too much of an after taste that I usually find with high hoppy beers. The alcohol volume doesn't make this much of a session beer but definitely one to be enjoyed. One thing to note, my bottle states it is the 14th Anniversary Edition I am not sure if this makes it any different from other years.

Had this on-tap at the Legend restaurant. Here goes:
A: Very nice, actually. Pours a clear orange with a nice, fluffy white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Very well done in appearance.
S: Very good, but not perfect. Cascade and chinook hops predominate, and these give off the presences of lemon, orange, grapefruit and pine (the latter two of these smells dominate). Has a mild amber malt aroma as well, but this is less apparent, as the hops dominate.
T: Delicious, but not perfect. Amber malt succeeded by a strong hop backbone. The lemon is rather muted, but the pine and grapefruit are staggeringly apparent. If you like West Coast IPA's, then this beer is right up your alley. Would've liked to see more balance between the hops and the malt, but perhaps this isn't what the brewers were going for.
M: Excellent. Ample thickness with lots of carbonation.
O: A very good representation of the American IPA style. Will have again (probably next week).

Purchased at Poseidon's Pantry Gourmet Grocery and Deli on Chincoteague Island, VA.
Pours an almost clear deep orange with a 2 1/2 finger off white head that becomes chunky as it recedes and leaves some decent lacing.
Fair amount of sweet malt in the aroma balanced by fruity/piney hops. Over ripe citrus and malt syrup.
Not as sweet as the nose, but still the malt shows through. Grapefruit, orange, pine, caramel, bitter grapefruit peel.
Medium-plus in body. Light carbonation, light syrup, and slightly warming.
A pretty good beer. Satisfying and an easy drinker. Well rounded. I would try this again.
