Cheap! This was like $ 5.00/33 oz bottle at the brewery
Number 535 of 1640, 2014 vintage, at 45 degrees into snifter
Aroma of roasted malt, figs
Head average (4 cm), creamy, light brown, slowly diminishing to a 2 mm layer
Lacing good – nearly complete rings of small bubbles
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor begins with slightly sweet roasted malt which shortly ends with a bitter aftertaste which also quickly dies. No alcohol, no hops, no diacetyl.
Palate full, creamy, soft carbonation

This is a surprisingly good offering from Frankenmuth brewery – much better than their usual selection. Although it’s a little weak in the flavor department

Bottle 171 of 1680

Appearance: It has a beautiful jet black color to it. It has a nice creamy tan head that dies down moderately slow and leaves lovely lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of roasted malts, molasses, chocolate and some dark fruit.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some sweet roasted malts, chocolate, faint molasses, a light earthy bitterness and a touch of dark fruit.

Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.
