A dark roasty porter body is the backbone for TBBC's signature sub-tropical porter. This beer displays a beautiful blend of banana, vanilla and roasted malts, making it easy to drink and satisfying on even the hottest Florida day. The Full Moon Madness marks the 20th anniversary of TBBC

Pours a dark brown color with tan colored head. Roasted malt, vanilla, and light fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with banana, roast, and some cocoa sneaks in.

Reviewed from (long-standing) notes. Poured from 16 oz. can into an unmarked pint glass.
A: Dark brown, very hazy, with low visible carbonation and over a finger's worth of light tan head that doesn't stick around for long.
S: Bananas, light clove and an impression of dried tropical fruit mix, all over the sweet toasted malts. A bit of hop bitterness as well.
T: Follows the nose – banana and clove yeast esters, fruity sweetness, some roasted green coffee and dark malts. There's a slight thin metallic flavor, then some bitterness from roasted malts and hops. I think I'm picking up a handful of pilsner malts here as well, but I'm not certain about that. Bits of citrus rind hops mix with yeast esters at the end. and finishes with lingering malt and fruity sweetness.
M: Body is on the thin side for a porter. Minimal alcohol, and carbonation sensation on the low side but acceptable.
O: Decent, but I'm not sure I'm digging the significant fruity esters over the roasted malts - though I'll freely admit this is likely only a personal preference.
UPDATE: On a personal note, I did enjoy it a bit more on a second go-round, but scores given are still from the first try.
