Located in Ybor City. A friend explained that this is pretty much the night lift sector of Tampa, along with a historic area with a lot of Spanish culture. The place itself is located next to a movie theater. There is random street parking, but nothing along 8th street, at least close to the restaurant. There are parking garages in the area. There is a light train, but I don't know where it goes or what it connects to (didn't use it).
There is an outside beer patio with a lot of bar seats. Being Tampa, I'm sure this area is packed since the weather is good year round, except when the occasional thunderstorm passes by. There is also liquor. The indoors is more like your typical brewpub with a long bar with about a dozen seats, and plenty of booth seating. There are some billiards toward the back. I didn't notice any TVs, though I didn't look (there could have been one right on the bar!).
The selection is about average for a brewpub, with 7 or 8 beers on tap with a good mix (stouts, porters, amber and pale ales, hoppy IPAs and Barleywines). One stout is on nitro-tap. There are also casks available, but those are hooked up on Thursdays and last into the weekend. The price seemed reasonable at $5 a pint.
If you're in Ybor City this is probably one of the better beer stops. A nice place to go as well if you're downtown. Recommended.

My wife and I went to Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Ybor City a week or so before Christmas. We had just flown in on a Saturday afternoon into Tampa and got a hotel room locally. The ladies at the hotel recommended that this establishment because it was actually within walking distance from our hotel.
The location is pretty nice although outside in the area of the train tracks it smelled like there was a broken sewer line, not their fault. The restaurant was pretty busy when we got there at 7 on a Saturday evening but we managed to find a pair of seats at the bar. There were two bartenders, a guy whose name I think was Matt and a women whose name was Kelly or something similar. TBBC seems to be more of a restaurant with a brewery then the other way around, but that's ok, we were looking for dinner also.
The bartenders recommended the beer sampler for starters and it was perfect, it came with 8 beers so my wife and I each got one. In general the beers were of a high quality, because I didn't have my notebook I could not formally review each of the beers, but I can tell you that one of them REALLY knocked my socks off. They have a beer called the Moose Hunter Barley Wine. This thing was great and I really couldn't ask for anything better.
The food was pretty good, my wife got the fish and chips and I got the cheese burger bomb or something like that. My wife loved the fish and chips so much that I couldn't even taste them, that was some BS in my opinion, she ate them all without even offering any. The bomb was really weird, they take all the ingredients for a burger, wrap it in pizza dough, then back it. It was a little bit greasy but the flavor was fantastic.
Being a homebrew the male bartender was talkative and I was able to ask him all sorts of questions about their beers. He is a brewer also, although not at that location. He was extremely knowledgable and it was great. I would normally give a perfect 5.0 for this service BUT there was an issue. At the end of the night I liked the beers and staff so much I bought a couple of shirts along with the beers and food. Then I figured that I wanted a growler of their barley wine. Unfortunately, they only sell one type of their beer in the growlers, what is the point of that!? Anyway Matt was able to charge me for 2 beers and then just put them in a growler so that they were able to get full price for them and I could bring the beer with me. Unfortunately a front of house manager came up and was actually upset about it. On top of that, he was reprimanding the bar tender in front of me!!! This is really bothersome to me, the bartender kept telling me not to worry about it, even though I was telling him not to if it would get him in trouble. That manager had no place in reprimanding a staff member in front of a customer. Seriously it was really uncomfortable.
Anyway, without that little issue everything was great. I would recommend going here for food and beers anytime that you are in the Ybor City area of Tampa!
