Sampled this one at the Great Brews of America Festival (Eastern Pennsylvania) earlier today.
Appearance: Medium red capped by a nice head with good retention.
Smell: Lightly roasty, caramel malt hints, and a pleasant balancing hop aroma.
Taste: This is one smooth, easy-drinking beer. Well-balanced and just complex enough to make it interesting. Slight hop bitterness in the dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I expected, but still suits the beer well enough. Very drinkable - I would definately buy this if it were distributed around here (the friendly people manning the taps and asked me to call in a couple of weeks to find out who will be carrying their beers in this area).

Appearance: Amber red tone nice off white cream colored head with a minimal amount of lacing. Aroma: Caramel malt strikes my senses initially but then I notice nice balancing hops great overall mix here nothing steals the show a well-balanced flagship. Taste: Nice bitterness mellowed by a caramel malt tone, very crisp finish good crossover brew. Mouthfeel: Excellent easy sipping brew fromt their regular lineup the balance is what sells this beer I could enjoy this one throughout the course of a football game. Drinkability: Tast, not too heavy but flavorful enought to fill my beer craving.

This is a nice, light red. Not even all that red, the lager was more than this, it was kind of a dull, muted color. Still, it was easy to drink if not very memorable. It was very light and you only get a hint of fruitiness from it. The hops does get you in the aftertaste but up front it's very gentle. A great beer for a hot day at the Lake. It might be a good one to start someone on who's not into micro's.

Served as a sample at the Deep Creek Brewery. The color was a dark amber, with decent head retention. The smell was fairly malty. The taste was of a very dry malt.......very little sweetness. The mouthfeel was very smooth, with just the right level of carbonation. I'd certainly drink another one of these.
Another solid regular offering from Deep Creek.........a good quality amber ale, and one that I definitely would drink again if and when I return there.

Medium amber color with reddish highlights. Topped by an off-white head that shows decent retention. The aroma is a bit of roasted malt and a nice hop note. Slight earthy smell as well, but pleasing. The taste is solid and smooth, with a touch of fruitiness intermingled with the malt notes, and a smooth hop profile on the finish. There's actually a good hop/malt balance to theis beer, which makes it very enjoyable. The mouthfeel is solid, but maybe a tad thin for the flavor profile (tastes like a meatier beer, I guess.) The drinkability is very good. I'd like to score a six of this on one of my trips to MD, as it's a solid beer that I enjoy drinking.
