An amber, craft beer with generous amounts of hops and alcohol. This copper-gold beer is a real heavyweight and a must for beer lovers. The liberal quantities of malt and bitter hops create a complex, full flavour. It starts as slightly sweet with malty aromas of chocolate, fruit and grain, while the bitter hops stand out nicely in the aftertaste. A feast for the connoisseur!

March 2015: 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. BB date 12/2013. ABV is 9%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Nice aroma of dried figs, malts and a hint of chocolate. Lovely flavour with just the right balance between sweet malts and decent hops, again notes of dried figs, also raisins, brown kandij sugar and hints of oak. Will buy again.

Slightly hazy amber with thick off white foam, in Amsterdam on tap at the Brouwerij; good cap retention, solid ring and medium lacing. Floral hops and sweet malt nose. Sweet malt entry followed by hop bitterness and some fruit notes. Medium light body, moderate carbonation; no warmth from 9%. Overall, the beer comes across powerful with strong nose and strong, yet balanced, sweet and bitter flavors; no booze was from alcohol; a bit of a bitter herbal hop linger.

Look: Burnt orange with an off-white head, a bit cloudy.
Smell: Alcohol, hops, chocolate, dark fruits, a bit of citrus, sugar.
Taste: Malts, grainy in the mouth, followed by more of the booze and bitter hops mixed with a little bit of fruity sweetness.
Feel: Normal carbonation, leaves a warm, dry mouthfeel after swallowing.

Ok Dutch not Belgian, but close enough.
Pours a lovely copper clear body but a disappointing head, especially given the tulip glass.
Aroma is packed with ripe fruit, plum and banana to the fore, backed with a spicy malt.
Taste is in the same vain, lovely and malty, spicy and full of those fruits.
Feel is a touch heavy with sweetener supplements, and leaves a dry coating to the tongue.
Overall, pretty good, but not in the top division...a shame was expecting more from a 9% amber.
