This was brewed in collaboration with Onno Kolemeijer and Arjan Speelman at Restaurant Ciel Bleu. It was dry hopped with Waimea, Citra, and Kaffir Lime. Got this bottle at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam.
From a bottle into a snifter

APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking, fluffy, off-white head with excellent retention. Head slowly fades to a good foam cap and coats the sides fo the glass. Hazy burnt orange in color with medium levels of carbonation evident. A full cap remains until the end and leaves sheets of lacing down the glass. Looks great.
SMELL: Pale malts, some melon aromas, with lots of lemon and lime in there for sure. Reminds me of lemon grass when I'm cooking curries. Interesting and surprisingly enticing.
TASTE: Caramel sweetness and melon notes, much like the nose, then some lime and bitter citrus at the swallow. A bold finish with bitter grapefruit, floral hops and some lemon-lime flavors as well. A touch of sweetness offers some balance. Really tasty, and the lime lends a refreshing lemon-grass type flavor that really works nicely in this style.
PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Quite creamy smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Some bitterness lingers at the back. Really good, creamy feel here.
OVERALL: Excellent stuff. The lime really lends a refreshing twist to the IPA base, making it a great warm weather beer. This one is also carbonated correctly, unlike many of the overly-carbed foam bombs that we get in this part of the world. If you're into lime and lemon grass flavors, give this one a shot. Recommended.
