Let's start with the huge windmill on top of the brewery with picnic tables outside and decent bar scene inside. It took awhile to figure out but you order from the center of the bar only, and on the side for to go beers and food. Small handful of beers on tap, and 5 or 6 in bottle. Decent range with Natte being my favorite. Worth a stop in while in Amsterdam but take an uber vs walking from downtown

I had a great time at this place on two separate occasions. My first time there was in 1995. Wow! At the time, curious hours for serving, a funky basement, lovely cheese/meats served with copious beers. Used to be a public bath house, on a main canal up from the ship museum. Great beers! The place gets hopping quickly. Brews are earthy, young, rich, and slightly Belgian in style and taste but with Dutch flair. A clutch of styles and a very cool place to hang out and meet people. Fairly EZ to find due to the big windmill. Worth a visit and then some.

Located a decent walk from the center of tourist Amsterdam, which to me is a plus as you get away from the crowds. The tram is a convenient option if you're coming from the museum area. Visited on a rainy Monday afternoon so the inside was pretty full with only a handful of open seats. It has a large outdoor seating area which I assume is great in better weather. Lots of energy and crowd seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. Main beer list had 8 beers on tap, with 5 additional seasonal brews available on tap or bottles. Limited food menu with cheeses, sausages and bread. Service was friendly, though generally we had to ask for beer rather than have the bartenders ask us, which is just a comment not a criticism. It's vacation and I'm day drinking, all is good. I found it odd they are only open until 8p, maybe due to the limited food menu or location? Regardless, we enjoyed the visit.

Spacious seating at bar and at community tables; more seating outside. Variety of in-house brewed styles on draught. Flights available. Packed the Friday afternoon we visited, fun vibe. Good snacks, we had sausage and cheese board. Hope to go back and sample a flight. On a canal and close to the tram stop. Easy to find...just look for the giant windmill!

Always crowded, nice atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating if the weather isn't too cold. Great selection of freshly brewed beer!

This was my second visit to a brewery in Amsterdam (first being Heineken itself). Smaller place at the base of a windmill. Bar stools seem a bit short for the bar. Lots of tables around the bar and it's all in one medium sized room. About a dozen or so beers on tap with varying sized pours. Food is served in a separate section and it is mostly finger snacks with some sausages, too. Overall a much more craft beer type brewery and worth a visit if you need some hops.

This was the only brewery/tap room I was able to visit while in Amsterdam.
It’s located a short stroll from the center of the city and I went here after first visiting the very cool Maritime Museum.
Our group of 4 sat at one of the tables by the windows. There is seating at the bar and a decent amount of tables. They have a very attractive beer garden by the front entrance.
It opens at 2 p.m. and by 3 p.m., it was 75% full so that shows something about its popularity. I would guess the mix is 50/50 tourists and locals. We enjoyed visiting with the other patrons.
We had full glasses of a total of 8 of their house beers. The verdict was solid to very good. The standout for me was the Columbus.
They offer a limited menu but we already had dinner plans so we passed this time.
Service was efficient and pretty friendly. No complaints there.

Rudest Service Ever!
I have never experienced such rude service as I have at this place. I was there on July 4th.
Here are some lines that were directed to me from the bartender: 'Didn't you hear me?' and 'I get the same questions hundreds of times', and the manager, once I complained about the service, was almost as rude and dismissive. The beer here is not good enough to make up for the poor service. My overall impression of the place is very negative, although it the place is attractive.
My recommendation is to either order their beer at the cafe next door (Langendijk Eetcafe) if you really wish to sample this brewery's beer or try a totally different, unassuming, and more convenient place such as De Bekeerde Suster- which has a few good beers of their own and much better service.

It's impossible not to mention that this is a brewery/bar in a windmill. It's a very cool place, in a very nice neighborhood, along the water, away from city center. The place was so crowded, we couldn't find tables to sit, but found space at the bar. The beer is cheap, from 2.4 to 3 euros, but come in small glasses (only size). They have a nice selection, with different styles, on tap, a couple bottles. They do close early, and there isn't much option for food.

It was super crowded when I went. I wanted to try a flight and there were not enough glasses go to go around. The bar suggested I bus some of my own glasses if I want to be next in line. So I did that, collected someone else's drinks when they were done. Not bad but difficult to find a spot and get my drinks.

Very cool spot a bit off the beaten path. Situated in an old windmill which makes it worth the visit alone. Short hours and gets very crowded so go early if you want to get a seat. Seemed like a good mix of tourists and locals when I have been here. Not a huge selection of beers but everything is solid.
