Pours a slightly hazy straw gold with a big sudsy head.
The aroma is apple juice (but not cider), cut hay, and molasses. The emphasis is on the apple juice.
The mouthfeel is crisp, with medium carbonation.
The taste is hoppy and bitter (increasingly so, as the drink is taken care of), caramel, lemon, a touch of cider (instead of apple juice, how strange), and a tad of honey. This ale has an acidic bite to it and I find it a bit too sour. The aftertaste is dry (and tangy).
This sparkling ale is decent, to style, and not awful. It's just not fantastic either. Would likely be good as one in a crowd for a session.
