First time visit to pick up some stuff for a homebrew project. Greeted inside by the very friendly staff who wanted to make sure I would find what I came in for. The bonus for me was getting pointed to the back room where there was a kegerator with 2 taps. They had an awesome IPA and a something else (I stopped looking when I saw the IPA). Where else can you go and get free beer while you shop?

Their selection was very good although a little disorganized. They could use a little more square footage and I'm sure that will happen in time. I still found everything I was looking for and the prices were right on.

A bonus, if you're crunched for time, is that you can go to their web site and put in a will-call order a day or two before your visit. This will save you from wandering around the store and would give you more time to sample the beer in the back room.

Highly recommended.

I frequent this shop. The guys a great, and helpful. On the weekends they get pretty packed so the line can start to stack up. Aside from that they have what you need when you need it! They do home brew sessions twice a month! If your lucky they will also have a home brew on tap in the back room for a taster!

Nice little hb shop that I often frequent when I need to re-up on home brew supplies. They have a really nice selection of hops, and WL yeast strains. They also have dry packet yeast, but WL is where it is at here. Their grain selection is also pretty decent with probably 30 different kinds of grains, and they have a good selection of extras such as; chocolate nibs, vanailla beans, hazelnut, licorice roots, various different kinds of extract, and much more. They also have lots of home brew equipment. I think one would hard-pressed to not find a piece of equipment they were looking for unless it was a real speciality item...

Service is always top notch, and there is always someone to answer any questions you may have, or to give useful advise. Everybody that works here brews themselve, and are really knowledgeable about brewing, and different craft brews and breweries...

My only gripe about the place is sometimes they are out of certain grains or yeast strains I am looking for at the time. They also used to have different beers that you could sample free from a kegerator in the backroom, but for some reason the last 5 or 6 times I have been here, they haven't had anything. Kind of a bummer because alot of times they had really decent brews to sample, including the occasional keg from Inland Empire Brewing; nonetheless, it would be trivial to complain about not getting free beer, so that is not really a gripe, but more of an observation...

Overall, a pretty cool place to check out if you are in to homebrewing...

Cheers...

If your thinking about starting to homebrew and live within a reasonable drive from Riverside, DO IT! You won't regret it. This place is awesome. The workers are super cool and encouraging. They have evrything you need to go from having nothing to brewing your first batch that same weekend. If your a beer geek and you can afford it, bring lots of money because your going to feel like a kid in a candy store and want it all. If your a beer geek and your broke, go anyway. Just don't bring your rent money cause you might spend it. the guys are cool to talk to the other customers love talking beer and they have demonstrations when the weather is good for you to watch and learn. And oh, did i mention they let you taste a few samples for free. Yes, this place is the $h!t

I've been here a few times as I just started homebrewing a few months ago. Its located in an industrial park in Riverside and can be a little tricky to find. Every time I've been in the staff is very helpful and friendly. They always seem to be very well stocked on ingredients and supplies as well as having very fresh hops and malt. Prices seem to be more than reasonable. There's also plenty of winemaking and coffee roasting stuff here. I'll be heading back soon to buy an all-grain setup. This is definitely THE place to go in the IE for all your homebrewing needs.

This is really the only home brew shop I have ever been to so I don't have much to compare it to. This is my LHBS that I will continue to go to since the staff is so helpful. They encourage everyone to brew when they are open so you can call with questions. They have good selection and compareable prices to online stores and where I buy most of my equipment and ingrediance. Will probably shop here untill I move since it looks like most other places near me aren't as good and are more pricy. There isn't alot near me when it comes to home brew any way...

I've been going to this place for about a year now. The people that work there are all nice and fairly helpful. If they don't know something they find someone that does. Actually, a lot of times when I ask questions there are other customers there that answer them for me. And they always let me try the beers they have in the back.

Plenty of stuff to choose from in terms of malts, hops, and yeast. The equipment selection is pretty good but a lot of times its cheaper to make your own equipment than to buy it from a store.

Some of their items are priced cheaper than other places and some are more expensive. I wouldn't say that they are cheaper or more expensive than other places overall, it just depends on what your buying. Even with this crazy hop "shortage" right now they still have some decent prices. The other thing is that you don't have to pay shipping if you buy it at the store so that helps keep the costs down.

Great place overall and there is plenty of expertise between the employees.

I stopped at this place on the way to a meeting tonight, it is right off the 91 in Riverside, next to a traintrack and a bunch of industrial buildings

I have been thinking about brewing my own beer for a long time and now that I know this is that close, it becoming more of a possibility

This placed was filled with all sorts of hops (especially ones needed for stronger IPAS=my favorite), they had lots of yeast too, even for lambics and stronger Belgian brews

I talked to a really nice guy working there and he recommended that I buy the $310 dollar kit instead of the $240 kit because it has a larger fermenter, cleaner sanitation monitoring, and various other improvements, if I decide to home brew, I will go with this

Surprisngly I found that if I were to make a 5 gallon keg of a standard IPA after obtaining a kit, it would only cost eighteen to thirty dollars

Unfortunately, this place did not sell any actual beer, but that it just not in its product base, they do carry a few different brand of glassware and some cool Stone Brewing shirts

I am going to see if my roommate is interested in going into a kit with me and I will have enough money to start this exciting process, really cool homebrew shop

Use to go an old place called Brew Buddies with my dad in Hermosa Beach, and this place seemed to have a lot more
inventory than this

I grabbed a catalog while I was there and the thing is an extensive eighty-seven pages long, this place has everything a homebrewer can want, I say people from San Diego County in there that drive all the way to this place because it is so good

This will be the first place I go if and when I decide to make my own brew, great service and cool store!!!

Great find in the I E...Extensive fresh grain and yeast choices. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable, and obviously loved beer. One of the staff shared a homebrew he had just finished which I enjoyed thoroughly. They have a neat computer program that helps you formulate your recipe, and even gives you an idea of the alcohol content that you'll achieve with the ingredients given. There is also a fair amount of homebrewing equipment available, including smaller replacement parts that can be hard to find. Between the grains, yeast, hops, equipment, water treatments and staff, you can't go wrong...I'm looking forward to my next batch...

OK, to start with, I am a homebrewer wannabe. I have never brewed, but I have talked to a lot of brewers, and have a sense of the homebrew process. So my detailed review of this place- well, you decide what it's worth. But I had to review it, because after knowing of this place's existence for a lot of years, just a few miles from my home, I finally went by, and I was blown away.

This is in a commercial/light industrial park in the northern part of Riverside, not far from the 91/60/215 freeway interchange. A nice sized, but simple store area with everything you could ask for- hardware and software! Mostly beer, but a small winemaking section too. I talked with the clerk and he was very knowledgeable- he gave me a catalog from which I have dropped several hints for my upcoming birthday. A small glassware selection rounds out the brewing capabilities.

The best part is they do occasional Saturday brew days- 6 hours of brewing, they supply the tasters and pizza. I couldn't go before, but it is definitely on my list for the next time.
