Can from the LCBO- Pours sparkling gold, a frothy white cap. Nose is quite grainy, of vegetables, mostly asparagus. Wet paper. This is fucking rank. Tastes not as bad as the nose, but still pretty stale. Creamed corn, a full platter of wet paper. This tastes quite stale. The finish is quick, with a touch of grassy hops, but this is really not at all good. (357 characters)

Poured a very pale straw color with inch of head. Dissipated within 2 minutes.. Smells Absolutely horrid.Slight sappy hops aroma. Hardly any taste at all, slight bitterness. Very Dry almost feels grainy on the tongue. Id drink it if i was thirsty enough. (254 characters)

Pours a golden color with a thin one-finger head into my pint glass.

Aroma is full of corn and sweet malt with a touch of bitterness in the nose.

Taste is very light and bitter upfront with the taste of corn and sweet malt. Harsh in the middle. Reminds me of Budweiser a bit.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering corn, malt and bitterness. Again, quite harsh.

Average or even less than so. Probably not a bad thing on a hot afternoon but I'd never buy it again. (461 characters)

Appearance: very clear with a pale golden color. The head is white, medium-sized with an impaired retention.
Aroma: not entirely unpleasant. Malty with some skunky notes.
Taste: some sweet malts to begin with and in the end slightly bitter. Corn notes.
Mouthfeel: kind of dry, high carbonation, low alcoholic strength and light body.
Finish: the bitterness changes to a disagreeable astringency.

Overall: mass-market adjuncty macro lager. Not inspiring. Disappointing aftertaste. (486 characters)

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light color, with a very thin white head that fades very quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of adjuncts, grain, light malts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with a light malt and adjunct sweetness followed by mildly bready flavors of lager yeast and grain. The hops presence hardly detectable and there isn't much balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp but not very smooth, light body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is clean.

D: Not very flavorful, light and goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, certainly not one of the better beers that I've had. (700 characters)

A very nice golden color. Little head that dissipates to to nearly nothing. No lace.

A combination of malt and adjuncts for the smell. No notable hop aroma.

Way too much carbonation--in fact, that may be all that is giving this beer its bite. This is a very dry beer. The swallow is slightly sour and the aftertaste shows some small hop flavors. The body is very thin.

A clear miss, although I'd say it is better than most of the American macros. (450 characters)

I'm not a fan of the romance beer, I mean french, spanish, italian. This lager is not a typical european lager. It's something strange. It's not bad, and it's not good. It's average beer. (187 characters)

Past year I try this beer in its special edition of the forum of the cultures and its spectacular aluminum bottle with eclectic reasons; of entrance I am not very affection to the Catalan beers, but to be special edition this very well in general, low fermentation, little flavor, malt and hops excelling; floral and cereals are present in its taste; drink from the bottle, that keeps mantain it maintains frost; good for tapas and mexican food; 70% recommended. (462 characters)

A: Poured this one from a bottle to a pint glass. Very little head was produced and it quickly dissipated. Had a dull, yellowish color and a clear texture.

S: Exceptionally skunky odor, with some hints of citrus. Not particularly pleasant.

T: There were hints of lemon, malt and hops, but mainly it was a thin, watery brew. Had very little personality, but that's par for the course with the style.

M: Below average amount of carbonation and a slick finish.

D: This isn't a particularly well made beer. That being said, is there a decent version of the American macro lager out there? Probably not. (603 characters)

Pours a very clear yellow with surprisingly nice white head. Smells metallic and like some grain, but very faint overall. Flavour is about as close to nothing as beer could be, but a little off tinge to it. Ok carbonation. Drinkability is not good as I do not want another one. Oh well, at least I tried a beer from Spain. (322 characters)

Pours gold with a large, fading white head.
Nose shows hay, vegetal notes, cardboard and faint spicy characters. Also some cereal-like aromas.
Flavours are very faint, just some sweet hay and cardboard. Not exactly unpleasant though.
Body is very watery. (257 characters)

500ml can. Lager glass. Sugar & cabbage as tap is removed. Bright straw color, filtered appearance. White forth creates a correct crown even though not very well attached. Sulfur, moldy & cardboard odors. Crispy & grainy upfront. Light to medium body. Medium moderate to high carbonation. Watery texture. Fizzy & spicy palate. Metalic hues, grainy malt flavor linger into a slight bitter finish touched by sweetish artificial notes. (432 characters)

Well...not such a great beer. Pale, almost greenish color with a thin head and little to no lace. Smell is of alcohol and bacteria (maybe I got a bad batch). Taste is almost a sweet, barley-wine type taste with notes of alcohol. Not very drinkable. I may try this one again some other time. I'm not terribly excited to finish the 6-pack - it's kinda skunky. (357 characters)

Bitter and Ascorbic. Very off-flavors of corn and raw untoasted malt. Hop profile is exaggurated far too much in this beer, leaving it taste like a boozy copper penny. My first Spanish (Spain, not Mexico) beer and this one screams a bit too loud for it's own good. It just doesn't taste right and would not make it's way in a session under any circumstances, it's too boozy and off-flavored. Below average EPA. (410 characters)

I had this in Barcelona. Afterall, it is the ONLY BEER AVAILABLE. Anywhere in the whole city. I was pretty disappointed to start noticing it in liquor stores here in New England.

Awful awful awful. Yellow in color, terrible smell, thin. Over-carbonated piss. (259 characters)

I don't normally completely hate any AAL's, but this is one that I'd love to never have again. It smells of skunky hay, and tastes the same way. The worst thing about this beer though, is the aftertaste. I say this in a decent number of my reviews but it has an "off" bitterness. It's weird. It's unwelcome. It's gross. It's a metallic sort of bitterness that ruins an already pretty awful beer. Considering the 67 rating (which isn't bad by any means for an AAL), I'll have to just guess that this is a skunked bottle... it sure tastes and smells like one. Pass. (563 characters)

I had out of a 12 ounce bottle.
A- Clear yellow color like a lite beer...think Coors lite. Slightly bubbly with some head and lace.
S- Something of a malt scent.
T- It has something of a malt taste, but the aftertaste is very sour. It progessively gets more horrible. Terrible beer. (282 characters)

Can from LCBO. Another frequently marketed pale lager. I could not open he can with the little tab, A can opener worked, but had to suffer through the cheesy aroma first. Pale body with foamy off white head. Below average mouthfeel. There was a little malt in the taste, a tad of bitterness. It was not the worst yellow fizzy beer I have had, but not too drinkable. (365 characters)

I just wrote a review for an Argentine beer and thought of calling its homeland the land of empenadas. Turns out the origin of empenadas is Spain, not Argentina as I once thought. Then I was inspired....Spain....lucky for me, I have a Spanish beer to drink! Or is it a Catalan beer? My brother was the inspiration for the purchase of the beer, as it was one of the beers he liked when he was abroad in Europe last year. Too many stories, not enough beer, on to it:

Looking good. The clean as a whistle body with a dazzling array of bubbles and polished pale gold provide a treat to the eyes. Head formation is an inch thick, sooapy-creamy in texture, and putting up some healthy lace. Reality hits hard in the nose, however. Photo-chemicals dominate, light corn, a little pale sweetness. It's funny how all these Euro lager types can look so good but smell uninspired.

Nope, still too chemically. The base flavor of sweet corn and grab bag pale malt would provide a decent taste score if it didn't have a strong chemically aftertaste and buzzy carbonation that reminds me of times that I used to curl my tongue around phone jacks as a young child (was that a run-on sentence?). At least it still looks attractive.

The elmblem of Estrella Damm is in the shape of a stop sign. Perhaps it's a hint of what to do should you pick up a bottle. (1,342 characters)

Beautiful golden color with some white head that is very fleeting and leaves just a tiny bit of lacing at the top of the glass. The smell and taste were pretty typical macro lager but avoids most of the potential disasters that cheaper macro lagers tend to have (skunkiness, over-sweetness, etc). This beer goes down easily but the drinkability is hampered by the price and the fact that i don't really want another. I am not even sure that I had one in the first place, it left absolutely no lasting impression. If you want to get drunk, buy something cheaper. If you want to enjoy a good beer, pick up a better beer for the same price. No reason to even try this one, really. (677 characters)

Straw colored with a slight haze possibly due to very small particulates. Short lived head. Grassy aroma with corn notes. Strong carbonation up front. Some of the hops show up in the beginning, but all quickly fades to nothing. Beer flavored carbonated water. Thin mouthfeel. (275 characters)

Poured in a chilled pint glass...

Appearance - a very light pouring beer, first appearance is very refreshing! Solid white head that disappears pretty quick. Minimal lacing and the head turns to the island appearance! Carbonation is present, however dies down fairly quick.

Smell - light smelling beer, almost no hops present.

Taste - clean tasting beer, i would say refreshing. Slight taste of liquor at the end, but very much not present.

Mouthfeel - smooth moutfeel, not a lot of carbonation. after taste is a little more present.

Drinkability - I would not lean twds this beer again in the future, it offers a limited amount of taste. Only thing is its a light and refreshing based beer. (696 characters)

Level flavors, either in the nose or mouth, there are few flavors really appreciable. The body is too unpleasant, and finish a little dry and bitter, has a strange and bitter little interesting for the fans, certainly due to the label "glutenless" gives him a taste forgettable. (278 characters)

Served on draught into a frosted Estrella Damm stein in Ibiza, Spain. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a one finger head of little cream, average thickness, and poor retention. Colour is a clear yellow. Appealing.

Sm: Clean barley. Some malt.

T: Malt and barley body with a lingering malty finish. Subpar and simple, but certainly refreshing.

Mf: Moderate thickness, but not too heavy. A bit syrupy. Too smooth. Wet and refreshing.

Dr: A lime ester is direly needed - or something to add to the complexity. It's too expensive (4 quid in Ibiza) for the quality. It refreshes, but doesn't satisfy. (602 characters)

Poured a clear yellow with a fluffy sudsy head that dropped to a film of bubbles fairly quickly. Aroma is grassy but clean and crisp. Taste is American-macro-esque right down to the funky unpleasant aftertaste.

A typical and utterly forgettable macro brew. Not worth the import price -- just buy Pabst if this is the kind of beer you want. (341 characters)
