A - Very very light pale beer. Even adjunct beers should have a more intense color than this beer. it seems almost too pale. It was about as light as a Natural Light.

S - I actually was shocked by the smell. I had an aroma that seemed remarkably similar to a Stella Artois. Quite sweet. Much better than 90% of adjunct beers I have had.

T - The taste wasnt bad, but it wasnt good. It was just average. So so. Nothing really popped out about this beer. It was quite watery and just boring really. For this category of beer it is better than what you could typically expect.

M - oooh. fail on this one. The carbonation was more soda pop like then beer like. There was very little body on this beer and slid down the throat more like water than beer. The flavor was weakened at the end because of the low body. I know this is typical for adjuncts but it was still on the far low end of what is acceptable.

This is a beer for the masses. If you are having a party and want to make the impression that you are getting awesome imported beer for people then go with this one. But basically it is a cheap domestic in a fancy bottle.

I expected more from The Kingdom of Spain. I love Spanish food and wine. But this beer was a bit of a fail.

Well...not such a great beer. Pale, almost greenish color with a thin head and little to no lace. Smell is of alcohol and bacteria (maybe I got a bad batch). Taste is almost a sweet, barley-wine type taste with notes of alcohol. Not very drinkable. I may try this one again some other time. I'm not terribly excited to finish the 6-pack - it's kinda skunky.

I had this in Barcelona. Afterall, it is the ONLY BEER AVAILABLE. Anywhere in the whole city. I was pretty disappointed to start noticing it in liquor stores here in New England.

Awful awful awful. Yellow in color, terrible smell, thin. Over-carbonated piss.

A – very light yellow with nice lacing.

S – slightly bitter hop and general clean pale malt.

T – Tastes pretty d-, errr… it tastes pretty good. I clearly couldn't entirely resist the obvious. Somewhat non-descript pale lager, but in this case it comes across as a good thing.

M – Pale lager. Clean and refreshing.

D – I would definitely order this in a restaurant, but I wouldn't buy it at the store given a reasonable selection.

The very drinkable Pilsner Lager from Spain is by far easily one of the smoothest beers in the world, it's humble in appearance and smell, but it has a quite common ground taste which goes hand in hand with its smoothness. Definitely a bar's high end beer with happy hour price tag.

This is best sold beer in Barcelona. Very cheap (more than water trust me!).

Serving type: Glass Bottle

Appearance: quite good tipical straw color with little head

Smell: Really not a lot. like a normal "supermarket" beer

Taste: Tastes like some watered with a bitter aftertaste. quite refreshing.

Mouthfeel: Not too bad. light expecially when you drink in a freezed glass (as they use to serve here in spain in almast all "tapas" bars and some restaurants)

Drinkability: drinkable because light, expecially in hot summer

Overall, this is a pretty good but it's nothing really special . An alternative to other famous beers tipical from Barcelona,

This is THE beer to drink in Barcelona (unfortunately) and I'm pretty sure this gets consumed more than water in Catalunya. I had this a few times in Barcelona because a lot of restaurants only serve Estrella Damm and more often than not, it's cheaper than water.

Appearance: On tap, it pours a not-too-bad-looking pale straw color with a foamy one and a half finger head. Honestly, it's not too bad looking, and the head doesn't look so bad. But don't be fooled, it doesn't taste as good as it looks.

Smell: Really not a lot in the way of smell, just some faint grassy hops and some some sweet malts that seem almost artificial.

Taste: Tastes like some watered down grassy hops up front and finishes with an odd sweetness. In a can, the sweetness was a lot more pronounced, I thought, but on top its just a lightly hopped lager.

Mouthfeel: Not too bad. It's an adjunct lager, so what can you expect? Pretty light and carbonated, though I thought it could have been more so.

Drinkability: This beer I'm sure was designed with poundabillity in mind, but the sweetness at the end of it is kind of a turn off to the drinkability. Regardless, I got one of these in a 1 liter serving and it went down pretty smooth.

Overall, this is a pretty standard adjunct lager. It's nothing really special and I probably will never have it again, especially considering how expensive it is in the US (like $9 a sixer in NC). Decent alternative to other adjunct lagers, though.

This is an ok lager, but not very good. It's a bit bland and with a notably, though not quite unpleasantely, fusel alcohol character. This, at least, makes it stand out a bit from others.

Bright gold, it has a medium white head steadily shrinking to a thin ring and wisps, but no real lace.

Aroma is basic but firm grain, apple, light grassiness, like a fairly good basic US macro lager, not like a real Euro macro lager.

Taste is rather similar, light but somewhat firm, basic grain, hint of veg, light wisp of sharp, grassy bitterness at finish and lingering with warm fusel alcohol - my wife popinted out that it tastes like kerosene. In the end, it is rather like a weak, basic malt liquor.

A buddy of mine got this as his first 6 pack for his 21st since he was going to Spain. Overall, alright beer but we figured not worth the 8 bucks he paid for it.

A: Very light. More like an American domestic light than anything. Just a little bit of head.

S: Again, very light. A bit too light for me.

T: OK taste. Quick little bite, but that's it.

M: Solid mouthfeel. Good balance of carbonation.

D: If anything, this beer is definitely drinkable, but only probably because it's so light.

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is slightly sweet, some hints of corn. Taste is mostly of malts and corn, finishing a tad bitter. Feels light in the mouth and has decent drinkability. Overall a decent beer, but nothing spectacular.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a pint glass. Best before date of 5/09 on neck label so a little past date. It was a clear pale straw color with some tiny floaters in it. It barely had a head even with a good pour. Didn't even cover the surface. Fizzy then gone to thin collar. Good carb streams and no lacing.

The aroma was typical adjunct. Grassy, sweet malt, corn and some hops. Good aroma for what it is but not a real sniffer. The taste followed the aroma and again good for what it is. Slightly sweet malt with a touch of hops throughout. Slap a BMC label on it and call it a new beer from them and I'd believe it. Goes down easy but mostly since not much flavor to it. More than a light beer and on-par with others in style.

Overall, an OK beer that could easily pass as one of the BMC's. Easy drinker and would go down quickly on a hot day. If you want something light and without a bunch of flavor, you could do worse. Rotation: avail here. Not much flavor so one is enough unless at a Spanish restaurant and this is best choice. No tap unless best choice.

About what you would expect from a European adjunct lager. There are better choices in the same price range.

Poured a light gold with a good head that dissipated quickly.

Smell was skunky with a hint of malt.

Taste was not too bad. It was very light and clean, had a crisp finish.

Mouthfeel was light as expected.

Drinkability, beer was light, easy drinking. I could through back a couple with friend.

500ml can poured into pint glass oct21 2009

A crystal clear light straw yellow with lots of bubbles and a giant head that has better then expected retention and leaves patches of lace

S grass some floral hops and rice cakes

T as it smells with a little lemon, nothing great but nothing offensive

M lots of carbonation but quite thin

D no real problems with this one but not worth looking for

I drank this for the first time in Barcelona sitting under a hot sun and I remember enjoying it more there on the beach.

12 oz. bottle,

A: Pours a nice golden with a solid white head, good retention, great for the style. Limited lace.

S: Grainy husks, hint of corn, adjuncts galore.

T: The beer gives a straight up malt flavour with a hint of corn on the palate, no DMS off flavours. Nice hop attack which was suprising, but very enjoyable and well done, grassy noble hop character.

M: Medium-bodied for the style, little overly fizzy, but a nice feel, clean and crisp.

D: Certainly one of the best adjunct lagers out there. I was certainly suprised by this effort, and would defintely drink it again if I wanted a Euro style lager.

I had out of a 12 ounce bottle.
A- Clear yellow color like a lite beer...think Coors lite. Slightly bubbly with some head and lace.
S- Something of a malt scent.
T- It has something of a malt taste, but the aftertaste is very sour. It progessively gets more horrible. Terrible beer.

A - Clear golden color with a thin layer of head on top. Noticed that small bubbles kept floating up while drinking this lager.

S - Decent amount of hop but not much else.

T - Decent flavor.

M - Average amount of carbonation. Nothing to brag about.

D - If I were in a bar in Barcelona, then I would have 4 or 5. If I were at the supermarket, I would only pick one up.

Pours a bright yellow with almost no heads that leaves a residue on the glass.

Smells of grains, grass, corn and malts with a hint of fruit.

Tastes bitter with plenty of grains on the tongue. There is little fruit flavor involved in this beer as well.

The mouthfeel is dry and crisp; fairly refreshing.

A very drinkable beer and could put many of these away in one sitting. However, will hold-out for something will more body and flavor.

Pours a clear golden amber with a thin white head - nothing special, but not off-putting. Aroma is richly malty and has a strong fruity component to it. Flavor is mainly malty and has traces of apple and cherry and is rather sweet. Texture is very smooth and somewhat thick, fizzy and lively. Not great, but worthy of a try.

Enjoyed on tap throughout Barcelona.

Poured a pale to medium straw hue with a two finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a light grainy malt and a balancing herbal and grassy hop.

The taste was well balanced and consisted of light malts and a decent grassy hop. A touch sweeter than San Miguel.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style with good carbonation.

Overall an ideal beer for the thirsty traveler. Easy to drink to say the least.

App: Big rocky white head with a clear and golden body. Not a surprise really, but the head is pretty impressive and stays awhile.

Smell: The first hint of smell is of putrid garbage... but then the beer gives of a light malt aroma.

Taste: Like the first smell, the first taste is just garbage with tons of off flavors, but adjust to provide a thin, crisp, honeyish light malt taste which is somewhat pleasant.

Mouthfeel: bitter, but not necessary hop bitterness... maybe stray protein bitterness (is that possible?). It's still refreshing and crisp, but does not go down all that smoothly.

DA: A step up from mahou, but not more than that. I'm still on the lookout for a good adjunct lager.

The color is a clear, light yellow-gold. A compact one-finger head sticks around and leaves a couple light rings of thin lacing.
The aroma's a little sweeter than I'd expect. Otherwise a light aroma of malt and hops.
The taste is the typical rice and corn of the American Adjunct, but there's actually a decent malt backing and hops bitterness for a bit of an even balance. The bitterness lingers, adding a leafy tang.
The body is light with moderate carbonation and some smoothness in the mouthfeel.
This is obviously nothing special, but I would put this just slightly above the typical adjunct because it seems that at least someone understands the concept of beer being made with hops.

A: Not much of a head and almost transparently gold. Lacing does stick to the side of the glass. The bottle looks kind of cool, so good packaging but that's the only positive of the appearance.

S: Full and a little sweet. Average lager smell.

T: Bitter taste but a full beer. This light looking Spanish beer actually has some cajones. The problem is the dry, bitter and terrible aftertaste really hurts the beer.

M: Full and balanced.

D: Not a bad beer, would have again. Better and heavier than other light Spanish beers I've tried.

Can from the LCBO- Pours sparkling gold, a frothy white cap. Nose is quite grainy, of vegetables, mostly asparagus. Wet paper. This is fucking rank. Tastes not as bad as the nose, but still pretty stale. Creamed corn, a full platter of wet paper. This tastes quite stale. The finish is quick, with a touch of grassy hops, but this is really not at all good.
