It pours out a very clear golden yellow, almost honey color. A dense shaving cream kind of head sticks around for a while. I thought I might be buying an adjuct beer with a fancy foreign label but this beer actually smells like it was brewed with the quality ingredients. Grainy sweet malt aroma with a very faint hint of hops. Good body, proper carbonation, and the kind of flavor that a lager should have. If I didn't know any better I would guess I was drinking a German import like Hoffbrau or Lowenbrau or Hacker Pschorr. Lightly sweet malted barley flavor with a touch of hop bitterness on the backside. Exactly like a lager ought to be. Quite drinkable.

Damm S. A. "Damm Barcelona"
One of the most interesting things I saw during my visit to Barcelona, and there were many, was the young people going out at night and hanging out along Las Ramblas with six-packs of beer in their hands. On my last 'day' there I went out to meet my taxi at around 5 in the morning and they were still there! The weirdest thing, besides the fact that their beer couldn't have been cold anymore, was that it was a weeknight/morning and they'd have to go too work in a few hours. I guess that explains the siesta, right?
OK, so what we have here is a basic European golden lager. It's a clear deep golden in color beneath a fluffy head of white foam that holds surprisingly well and leaves some nice lacing behind. It smells of malt and hops. It's lightly floral and herbal. The flavor brings a little bit of apple and berry-like fruitiness to the game, and the graininess remains. It's fruity and floral, and then sweetish with grain but balanced by a stiff bitterness, and then herbal and mostly dry in the finish. in the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. It basic, but it does have a character all its own, and it is a bit charming. I can see how a young man could drink 6 of these in an evening while trying to meet women. I'm also pretty sure that some of them drink even more than that.
I didn't drink a lot of this while I was there, for obvious reasons, but also mainly because Barcelona now has quite a few craft breweries. However, in some areas where your choices are limited to mainstream beers one of these helps while you're walking around in the sun. Do pay attention though, these are 5.4% abv which is stronger than Budweiser, and you'll probably need some water as well.

Pours a clear, straw color. 2/3 inch head of a white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of Euro yeast, pale malt, hint of sweet malt, hint of earthy malt, and a hint of smoke. Fits the style of an Euro Pale Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight pale malt, hint of smoke, Euro yeast, and a hint of hop. OVerall, one of the better Euro Pale Lagers I've had; the smoke is a nice addition.

11.2oz bottle (best by 05/15, date stamp L 090500) served in a straight wall glass at El Meson, Dayton OH.
Appearance: Clear pale gold with a thin white head. Strands of white persistent lacing.
Smell: Clean with a light grain aroma.
Taste: Good malt with a light bitter noble hop finish. A bit grassy as well, and to my palate I detected a bit of buttery taste (diacetyl) at the finish.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy, and a little bit sticky.
Overall / Drinkability: An ok Euro Lager, but nothing special. Did wash down Epenadas rather well though.
