Inedit was created in 2008 by Damm’s master brewers, Ferran Adrià and the team of sommeliers at elBulli. It was brewed to pair with a wide variety of culinary creations, even the most complicated citrus-based dishes or ones with bitter notes It is a unique blend of malt barley and wheat, flavoured with coriander, licorice and orange zest making it a one-of-a-kind beer.

My brother gave me a bottle of the for Christmas of 2011. I was a big Adria fan and hadn't heard of the beer prior to being given a bottle, so was quite excited to try it.
Overall I was a little disappointed. I guess because I was expecting a lot from this. It is a good beer, and I can't complain about any aspect of it in particular, but nothing was really much above average.
I guess it is quite a unique style, and I can't say I've had anything quite like it before or since. But, overall it really just isn't that exciting, especially coming from the likes of Ferren Adria. I'd have it again but not in a hurry or at a price.

Damm S.A. “Inedit”
33 cl brown glass bottle coded “24/07/2024 L24022 1 24072023” and sampled on 29/11/23
€1,59 @ MAS, Sevilla, ES
Notes via stream of consciousness: I’m sure I’ve had this beer before but I must have lost my notes. It’s poured a mostly clear golden body beneath a thumb’s width of white foam. The aroma is exactly what you’d expect from a Belgian witbier with coriander, sweet and wheaty malt, and a hint of orange. The flavor follows with some soft star anise and a moderate bitterness that leaves it semi-dry in the finish. Some malt lingers alon with a touch of spiciness. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and gently crisp before warming to become a bit airy and then smooth. The head retention and lacing could both be better but this is still one of the better beers from Damm.

Pours a cloudy, but not opaque burnished gold color. Thin, velvety white head forms, then dissipates leaving just a thin layer of residual foam. Aroma leaves a bit to be desired - it's got some light wheat notes, a bit of spice, coriander, licorice and citrus zest, but it is kind of muddled and subdued. The flavor makes up for the lackluster aroma with notes of sweet hay, coriander, orange zest, and and some black licorice. The citrus is really bright and plays a strong role in that flavor profile. Feel is light, a bit oily, but smooth and easy drinking. Bright, lively carbonation. Overall it's a nice witbier.

Smells distinctively of oranges and lemon. There is the traditional banana flavor of the Witbier here but there is also an orange flavor.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the Mercado De San Miguel near the old town square in Madrid . It poured a clear golden with white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Inedit is a slightly hazy, pale amber beer with lemon highlights. The head is rocky, white, and shows decent retention.
Taking a sniff, Inedit smells like the softer side of the hefeweizen style. Meaning, I don't smell any cloves. I smell the yeasty aroma of fresh bread dough. There's definitely the obligatory hint of ripe banana. Buried in there somewhere is even the necessary hint of bubble gum. All combining to give the promise of a refreshing summer beverage.
On the tongue, clove is more present but only a little more present. Vague hint of cloves accentuates Inedit's up front dryness. Initial dryness is supported by fresh baked bread and ripe banana. The finish is an interesting combination of ripe banana and hints of peppery European hops.
nedit is a pleasant enough beer but it lacks the assertive character of a good hefeweizen. Also lacks the slight tartness a good hefeweizen would have to offer, helping make the beer more refreshing on a hot summer day.

An interesting take on what I think is supposed to walk the line between a light Euro lager and a wit. A little dry at first, champagne notes soon acquiesce to a slightly more solid malt base. Quite tasty. Thanks Danny.
