Straw yellow with brilliant clarity. Bright white rocky 1-finger head with medium- retention. Light lacing in the glass.

Light grain, corn chips, saltine crackers and light toast. Earthy, milkweed and a little hop spice.

Biscuit, apple, light pear, melba toast.

Crisp, medium- bodied without being watery. Carbonation is in balance.

One of the better examples of gluten free beer.

33cl Bottle (part of a four pack): BBD Sep 2013. Poured into a 'Veltins' badged tulip on a sunny Shropshire Sunday during July 2013.

Usual lager/pilsner look and feel: golden and bright with a thin white covering of tight bubbles.

Semi-sweet malt nose with hints of floral hops as the beer warmed in the glass.

The taste was also semi-sweet malty, with a hop dryness towards the end of each sip. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either.

OK, an average lager/pilsner with no ill effects by being 'gluten free'.

Nearly two fingers of head, white. Pale yellow body.

Corn, grass. The aroma is overall very light.

I get corn and sweet pale malt. Hops are grassy and light. Very little bitter.

Light bodied. Washes down easily. Leaves no coating or residue.

This is a simple beer, and honestly not in a style I'm a huge fan of.

$7.99/four pack

This is one of the worst among those for which I have paid more than $2.00/beer. It has a terrible metallic taste that is also overly sweet. It tastes of adjunct, and aside from pouring with a large head and a nice bottle design, it is no better (and actually worse) than most macro beers I can get from a gas station. It has a sticky mouthfeel. Overall, save your money unless you're looking for an offense smelling lager that tastes like corn syrup and the bottle that it comes in.

Gluten free...

A: Pours slightly pale golden with rather lots of small bubbles in the liquid. A medium tall white, airy and kind of uneven head sinks after a while, leaving decent lacings.

S: Mild smell, a bit "Adjuncty" with corn and perhaps rice. Nettles and fresh cut grass alongside with bitter hops. A bit citric.

T: Malty, eventhough there's no ordinary barley, a bit bready. Bitter hops. Some citric notes in the back. KInd of buttery.

M: Aftertaste is long and bitter. Body is medium and oily, actually. Rich carbonation, but never offensive.

O: As a gluten free beer, way more body than I thought before. Nice bitter hops. But a buttery feel affects the rating, in a bad way.

I was so elated when I saw this Damm beer in the big box o' beer that my local, in-person trader, tone77, dropped off that I thought to myself, "Hot Damm, I am anxious to try that beer, Damm it!"

The finger of rocky, fluffy, bone-white head looked like meringue atop the beer as it slowly fell like a souffle. Color was a pale lemon-yellow with NE-plus quality clarity. Nose was redolent with Saaz hops, not skunk as one previous reviewer misidentified it. It had a really nice grassiness to it without being ruined with adjuncts and believe me, I am able to spot the difference at this point! Mouthfeel was soft, lightly carbonated with a grassy, slightly metallic taste on the tongue. Finish was semi-dry and definitely lager-like in its mild unobtrusiveness. I will not say that it was the best example of the style that I have ever tried, but its gluten-free status makes it highly recommendable to anyone that has that as a concern. It was decent, but it could be good under the right circumstances.

The beer pours a clear golden straw with a nice foamy head that dissipates to a ring while you drink it. There is a little half decent lacing.

The aroma is of some sweet malts, hay, hops and skunk. Pretty much like many lagers.

It tastes sweet pretty much throughout. Nice and light malts with some mild hops with a twinge of skunking. The finish is finally a little dry. It's balance tips in the favor of sweet, but that is OK with me.

Mouthfeel is a hair under middle of the road sweet, maybe a little watery with semi lively carbonation and a mild dry peppery feel at the end.

Overall, for a mild celiac, this is a dream beer in the lager realm. I'm going to have to say in that arena its in the high 3's.
