This beer was on special for $1.50 where I watched Lions game yesterday so decided to have one and thats all I could really handle.Pours a deeper yellow than most adjunct lagers with a thin white head that was gone in a blink of an eye, aroma was a little skunky with big doses of corn husk pretty much what I figured.Taste was watery and very bland with a little corn flavor. This brew is pretty bad it didnt even measure up to the Icehouse (the other beer special)so u know it has to be bad,I would take aHeineken over this next time I wont care about the specials it will be Carolina Blond all day.

One of the better Euro/Pilsners around, and at least its NOT brewed under licence in the UK. I never buy anything Brewed under licence!! Not too sweet nor too bitter. Value at £1.50 for a 660ml Bottle (99p if you shop about!) A good session beer and great with BBQ.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pilsner glass.

A: Crystal clear and pale straw yellow. Foamy white head at the pour dissipates quickly to a thin ring. Good lacing.

S: Faint smell of citrus-like hops; lemony almost.

T: Very light flavors of pale malts balanced with light fruity hops. There's a hint of sweetness as well some wheat. Finish is relatively quick and clean.

M&D: Light, almost watery mouthfeel. Drinkability is pretty average with nothing that makes it bad, nor good for that matter.

Not a terrible brew but not something I would seek out again. Perhaps a notch above other American macros. Mediocre.

Poured a very light golden color, with a white frothy head that faded into a light glaze over the top of the glass that left a good lace all the way down. The taste was not at all what I expected. It had no hint of skunk like its other more famous Holland brew and was very fresh and drinkable. I would seek it out again but I have not seen it anywhere in my town outside of the Beers of the Season box that I got for my Birthday. Very good.

A- Very clear light gold in color with a big head that fades quickly leaving no lacing.

S- Light malt, not a lot here. Smells a lot like budweiser so I'm guessing there's some rice.

T- Again rice and sweet breakfast cereal are the main flavors and are pretty bland, but there is some noble hop character mixed in that sits especially well on the crisp finish. Also a bit of metallic and DMS flavors in the mix.

M- A bit thicker and less bubbly than typical American macro, just right for the style.

O- This isn't a special beer in any way but it is certainly drinkable.

Presentation: 12 oz stubby green bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Strawish golden colour with a great clarity and fluffy white lace that stays for a while.

Smell: Sweet lemony, honey and hay like aroma from a mix of sweet aromas, no skunkiness here.

Taste: Rich crispness, moderate body. Sweet grassy grainy flavours with a mild sweetness. Malt flavours stay light and vibrant with endless grassy flavours that border on astringent. Hops go the same route with a balancing bitterness and riding the flavour profile for more down the road with herbal undertones. All in all a dry brew in the finish.

Notes: A semi-clean Euro lager, better than the usual mass-marketed import and at less than $5 a six pack it is a steal!

Pours a golden color. Little head which leaves quickly. Smell is floral. Taste is full bodoed for green bottles, lightly malty with nice carbonation. Very refreshing, as a Pilsner should be. Floral accents in the taste. Hops present, but the malt is where the action is. This is a decent pilsner.

Yet another questionable offering in my beers of the world 12-pack.

Straw-colored in appearance with a thin layer of off-white head that makes a decent attempt to lace the glass. Aromas are sweet, malty, with a hint of bitterness. And an overshadowing skunked facet. Flavor is also on the sweet side. Very clean, crisp and short-lived. Nothing too hefty or thought-provoking. Finishes again with the sweetness. Thin and low-bodied. Not drinkable.

Lacy long lasting head. Looks clear and golden.

Sweet grain and an almost skunky scent.

Taste is sweet initially in the mouth but turns bitter in the finish. Missing a nice even grain flavor.

Has a nice dry texture. Carbonation level seems good.

Too bitter to have more than one. Overall not a great beer.

A 500ml green glass bottle with a BB of Oct 2012. ABV is stated as 5%. Picked up cheap from Lidl.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A clear light-golden colour with good carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that dissipates swiftly. Aroma of light malt with a faint hint of stewed hops and overcooked veg. A background whisper of tart apples and solvent.

Tastes of light malt with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Weak notes of stewed hops, overcooked veg and solvent. A harsh flavour upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is light, prickly and dry. Slightly astringent. Faint aftertaste of stewed leaves.

Bah - a fairly typical mass-produced lager, dull and characterless. Weak aroma and flavour with some off-notes. Not particularly good; the low price is the only thing going for it. Give it a miss.

Before I found out there were other, more interesting, beers I was a native Bavaria Pils drinking teenager since the brewery is only a 15 minute bicycle ride away and all the local bars serve it.

Visually the beer looks like a classic pilsener. The color is yellow-goldish with a not so big white head that is quite stable.

Smell is mostly malts: bread/grain with a slight hint of caramel. Earthy smell from the hops and maybe a tiny hint of grape.

Taste is a little bit unbalanced. It needs more hoppiness to resemble a true pilsner. But it's brewed for mass consumption therefore taste isn't really discernible.

Mouthfeel is pleasant. Not too much carbonation, nice body and a balanced aftertaste.

Isn't a bad beer at all but it isn't phenomenal.

Straw color with medium head and plenty of lacing.

Aromas of honey and hay. Pretty mild, not much going on.

Tastes of honey, lemon and grass. A little skunky. Very light, not much body.

It reminds me of a watered down heineken. Probably won't buy again.

Clear as a bell, just on the gold side of straw in color. Head is very white and a pretty dead affair after 40 seconds. A little clove to the aroma, not much detectable skunk. Sweet and malty upfront, a little sense of Karo syrup and an unfortunate walk toward elements of that glue on the back of brown mailing tape. Finishes quickly thereafter but the hops are mediocre, very macro-like. Forgetable beer in practically all aspects.

Clean, smooth and crisp refreshing Lager, This stuff is cheap where I'm from but taste great ! Taste similar to Heiniken without the usual pleasant malty after taste, so not as 'heavy'

Can only recommend it when you fancy buying something different for yourself and to share.

picked up a sixer from the Biltmore Cabaret's "Cold Beer" section on the side of the club about a fortnight ago. poured from 500ml can into pint glass.

pours a 1" frothy white head, heavier than moderate lacing, clear light yellow body, not so bubbly.

malt, corn. apple juice aroma. smells awful.

tastes comes back to apple juice. simple and plain. alcohol is damn prevalent for such a low content beer. sour mash vibe.

mouthfeel is unpleasant. thin, funky aftertaste.

a cheap, pale, nasty beer. even super cold it is gross. avoid.

**my can said 5.00% alc./vol. as opposed to the previously noted 4.8%.

freshness date on bottom of can: 07/2012

I'm from the Netherlands, so I grew up with this kind of beer
A-> It looks like all other Dutch beers, nothing special
S-> The smell isn't much different from the other beers either
T-> In my opinion it tastes way better than heineken (=Amstel), Dommelsch and Grolsch, which are the big concurrents here in the Netherlands.
M-> It isn't very bitter in your mouth, but after an evening of drinking this beer, you get a nasty taste in your mouth:)
D-> Easy to drink, you can drink a bottle in no-time

Cheaper than Heineken, but it seems to smell and taste that way as well. It poured to a decent pilsener gold, but that's where my kind words end. Is that rice in the taste? The colder it is the better, which doesn't speak well for this beer's quality.

330ml bottle, and called "Bavaria Premium Beer" on the labels sent to British Columbia and Alberta, at 5% ABV.

This beer pours a clear, pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and generally bubbly bone-white head, which leaves some random streaks of snow rime lace around the glass as it quickly dissipates.

It smells of grainy, weakly bready and crackery pale malt, gritty rice husks, and rather prominently skunky, dead grassy, and weedy hops. The taste is sweet bready cereal grain, both malt and corn/rice informed, doughy yeast, a bit of metallic minerality, and more stanky grassy, weedy hops.

The carbonation is moderate to low, and mostly just overwrought in its frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and plainly smooth. It finishes off-dry, barely, as that skunkiness apparently hasn't had the good graces to just blow off by now.

There might be an average, adjunct-bolstered Euro Pale Lager here (Pilsner? Hah!), but for that acrid skunky odor that was evident upon popping the cap, and carried through to the very end. So not inherently bad, overall, yet it seems to lag in most every respect when held to the proclaimed style, and more so when that light-struck packaging bullshit is factored in.

I love cheap liquor store pick-ups. For curiosity's sake I have this sitting in a pint glass in front of me. Pours just a tinge darker than straw yellow. Virtually no head but very slight lacing. Smell has a touch of sweet malt with just a bit of grassy/peppery hop aroma. Taste is... Well, taste is very clean and mildy sweet before a very gentle hoppiness rolls over the tongue. Hop taste has a decent pepper subtleness. Typical pale lager I assume. Unoffending in everyway but not worth repeated drinking in my opinion.

Looks alright. Clear gold and actually a decent white foamy head. There's some lace too. Well I had this in Italy a few years ago and I thought it was a bit better (granted then my beer sense was less keen). This pack might have gone down hill on its trip over and I'm sure the florescent lights at the store didn't improve it either. Unfortunately the smell is mainly of cooked canned corn and boiled veggies. There's some struggling sweet malt in there and possibly grassy hay like hops. Taste is a little less corny but still has it. Mouthfeel is smooth with excited carbonation. There's a mildly sweet and mildly bitter finish. This style should be really drinkable but the corn is bringing me down.

There's been better.

Got this one cheap on sale at the local Safeway. I decided to try it after hear about their attempts to subvert the official beer of the World Cup, Budweiser.
Deep golden color with a thick head. Very pretty looking beer.
Reminded me a bit of Heineken, slight off-smell. A good mix of malt and hops flavor. A fairly crisp finish. Nothing outstanding, but a solid brew.

This was in a jumbo 16.9oz. bottle! Since I was outside washing the motorcycle, I just drank this right from the bottle. Popped the cap and it held a slight white head for quite a while. Had a typical pilsner crispness, light bodied and well carbonated. Decent hoppy finish without being overpowering. Since it was such a big bottle, it started warming as I drank it but taste didn't suffer in the least because of it which was a BIG surprise. Good summer brew.

Not much to smell or look at, this beer had a pronounced bitterness, with little redeeming malt. I was OK with it, bit could not finish a 500 ml. can and it was not popular with my dinner mates. While not metallic, the taste was a bit harsh and thin.

Pours a pale golden yellow with a half of an inch of loose, soft, foamy, white head that has decent retention. The nose has a grassy, grainy aroma. The flavor is lightly malty, grainy, and grassy with a decent hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is light and crisp.

This is a decent, easy drinking pilsner. It's not offensive, but it's not overly flavorful. There's just enough flavor to keep me interested. I'll probably have this again.
