500ml bottle, poured into glass.

Appearance (Look): Clear, straw yellow. Carbonation clearly present, nice two finger head which died, some lacing.

Smell: Not a lot going on here! Some bready malts and grassy hops, but thats pushing it.

Taste: Its light, there's not much going on but there is that distinct enough rice feel. Noble hops and crisp finish. Light bitterness, barely noticeable.

Mouthfeel (Feel): Light bodied, watery. But not in a bad way. Its refreshing on a warm day,

Overall: Very light, not a lot of flavour. But as critical as it may seem, Its clean, balanced and refreshing. Depends what youre after, perfect on a hot day and better balanced than most.

Bavaria Blue Beer

So the look of it: About a finger of head. Clear medium golden color

The smell of it: Malt

The taste of it: Nothing offensive. Taste really European. Remind me of the Heineken or Grolsch or even the Stella Artois. Nothing much really to say on the taste. The finish is on the dry side.

So overall would I recommend it ? No, there is not enough for me to recommend it.You really wanna drink a Holland beer. Go get an Heineken. This one will be the last time I drink it.

I bought this in Italy at a truck stop for 50% off. It was an 8 pack for 5.90€. I drank it in Switzerland where the beers were 7.80€ each so that helped it taste better.

Had this beer in Ontario Canada and it was vile. It sold for 2$ a tall can which is at the cheap end for 500 mls of beer in my region. It was so foamy and acidic that my stomach soon felt bloated after just a few cans. Next came the hiccups and eventually I vomited to get this crap out of my system. Spaten has done the same to me also. This beer honestly makes me not to be a beer drinker anymore. Terrible.

Clean, smooth and crisp refreshing Lager, This stuff is cheap where I'm from but taste great ! Taste similar to Heiniken without the usual pleasant malty after taste, so not as 'heavy'

Can only recommend it when you fancy buying something different for yourself and to share.

I had four of these in St. Martin and Sint Maarten. In the Caribbean, there aren't a lot of beer choices, so this was available and it turned out to be refreshing.

It is a typically light yellow affair, with biggish bubbles. The aroma is a sweeter version of the style - not very hoppy.

The taste is inoffensive but boring. It's sweet-ish and not hoppy enough.

We got two of these (in cans) and a Cuban cigar for three bucks just off the boardwalk on the Dutch side (on the French side they were more like $4 each in a fancy restaurant on Orient Beach). Good value in the can (and I think it was tastier), and the cigar wasn't at all bad either (a Monte Cristo).

A light lemon/mineral water taste, nicely rounded with saaz hops and an apparently endless amount of streaming bubbles make for an enjoyable pilsener. Got this pint can for $1.00. Very refreshing and sessionable.

Purchased at the LCBO for just under $3.00 for a 500ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a high white head that films out in a minute. Film lasts though. Clear medium gold color.

S- Nice yeast and malt. Very European

T- Like a crappy Heineken really. Not much else to say

M- Crisp and dry like a Heineken

O- A Heineken clone. Ok at best

Food Pairing

This ok beer goes well with....... Pretzels!

The beer pours pale golden with a cotton-like cap of foam. The liquid is pale golden with air of breadiness. Very light on the palate---definitely has a "macro" sense about it with some cooked veggies through the center and could use a little more bitterness at the finish. All in all, though, its drinkable.

Nice refreshing brew- not too claggy on the pallet- taste doesn't linger at the back of my throat after two 500ml bottles; whereas other beers do, forcing me to reach for a cider. Onto my third, still finding it refreshing. Good price, 95p per bottle. Might be on these for a while till I get bored..

Appearance: 1" white head recedes quickly. Light lacing. Straw color and clear. Significant carbonation streaming.
Aroma: a mild aroma -- pick up some grassy smell and some faint barley malt.
Mouthfeel: light and watery, finish is crisp dry and refreshing.
Flavor: not complex but pleasant. Flavor has less bite than some other Euro lagers such as Heineken or Grolsch. There is a slight lemon citrus hop bite in the finish but it is very mild.
Overall the flavor is light and drinkable with sweet malts and a bit of biscuit flavor along with the grassy element detected in the nose.
Overall: a good if not unusual beer.

Whenever I drink beer, nine out of ten times it's Bavaria premium. The taste never seems to lose it's value. It's that subtile sweetness that apears just before the stunning bitterness sets in, only to give way to a beautiful and refreshing aftertaste. For it's price, Bavaria can't be beaten easily.

There is not a single Dutch lager that comes even close to this golden simplicity.

Picked up a case of these in 8 oz cans, not having tried, hope not to be disappointed, let's give it a whirl. Popping the can top I don't get much of a smell. Reading the label it is made with barely malt and wheat so doesn't look adjunct. Pouring into my handy SAPP I get a bright yellow brew with a big bright white foamy head that tops out the remaining space in the SAPP. On the taste this brew is bitter sweet hopping with a nice maltiness in the background, well in line with what is expected from a typical Dutch brew. Very thirst quenching and tasty and will serve its purpose we'll for what it is intended, a lawn mower brew. Actually a quite good lawn mower brew.

Excellent golden yellow body; lively carbonation; fluffy, creamy white head. Grass and hay aroma. Slightly malty flavors; softly biting hop bitterness. Light, crisp, dry body.

A fair pilsner that's a tad unbalanced with the flavors. The hop bitterness doesn't quite mesh well with the malts, coming across a bit too strong and leaving a faint metallic aftertaste. The high point is the appearance with excellent head retention and plenty of foam rings down the glass. Certainly drinkable yet just as easily forgettable.

Poured from 33cl can into a flute glass.

A: Delivers a thick head, but the head dies quickly. Color very clear golden/straw yellow.
S: Malts scent dominates, but has also some metallic notes which later disappear.
M: Moderately carbonated, body full enough for a pilsener, not watery.
T: Malts flavour dominates, followed by grassy notes. Discretely hopped. Dry finish with somewhat more pronounced alcohol aroma.

A decent and refreshing pilsener, better than most of its European mass produced counterparts.

A: The beer is clear straw yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a collar around the edge of the glass and soe lacing down the sides.
S: Faint hints of bready malts are present in the smell along with some bits of grassy hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light-bodied (but not really watery) on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This isn't a bad German Pilsener from a Dutch macro brewery, especially since there are no aromas or favors of adjunct malts.

This is the pilsner I almost always buy when I have a party or something like that.
It is a pretty cheap beer in the local shops.

The smell is not that great. Nothing special in there, the same for the appearance.
The tast is just above average. A little bit bitterness and a very light sweetness.
The body is light and it has a very watery and thin feeling.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

I could've sworn Bavaria was in Germany... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear straw topped by a finger-and-a-half of white foam. The nose comprises grass, flowers, light wild rice, and a touch of wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, with the grass in control, but not in an unpleasant way. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, a nice little pils, nothing incredible, a fairly tasty choice, especially for the price.

Poured into a glass from a 330 ml. bottle, showing a clear golden straw in color. Offers a big white cap of foam which shows good retention and lace. Carbonation is subtle as for bubbles and lightly effervescent.

Aroma is a bit funky with a light medicinal hop character. Otherwise offers your standard pale malt depth.

Flavor of light lemony hops and neutral graininess. Smooth and drinkable with a creamy feel given the carbonation level and light sweetness combination. Does finish a bit dry and chalky in contrast. Easy yet unexciting.

A- Very clear light gold in color with a big head that fades quickly leaving no lacing.

S- Light malt, not a lot here. Smells a lot like budweiser so I'm guessing there's some rice.

T- Again rice and sweet breakfast cereal are the main flavors and are pretty bland, but there is some noble hop character mixed in that sits especially well on the crisp finish. Also a bit of metallic and DMS flavors in the mix.

M- A bit thicker and less bubbly than typical American macro, just right for the style.

O- This isn't a special beer in any way but it is certainly drinkable.

One of the better Euro/Pilsners around, and at least its NOT brewed under licence in the UK. I never buy anything Brewed under licence!! Not too sweet nor too bitter. Value at £1.50 for a 660ml Bottle (99p if you shop about!) A good session beer and great with BBQ.

Poured from 500mL can into a pint glass.

Appearance: pale golden hue with a clear body and plenty of effervescence. Head poured a thick finger of frothy white foam and has pretty good retention.

Smell: mildly sweet malt with a light graininess and a hint of noble hops. Not too bad.

Taste: quite sweet up front which gives way to a light graininess and a nice noble hop flavor. The finish is a little too sweet, however, and kind of sticky.

Mouthfeel: very light body with plenty of carbonation. Big, refreshing fizziness, which is good, but it's not really creamy.

Overall: a refreshing enough German Pilsner. A bit on the sweet side to drink a lot of, though.

Bought a Mix-A-Six Pack from MacDoodles in Joplin, MO for $9.85 and added a 11.2Fl.oz. bottle of this to it. Poured from the Green Bottle/Blue Labeled bottle into a Shaker Glass. Has no freshness date on the bottle. Only a series of numbers.

Aroma- Corn, rice, and sweetness. A very average pils aroma with light grainy character all the way through.

Appearance- Pours a 1.5 finger head that dies quickly. Has an extreme golden, clear body and leaves good lacing behind.

Flavor- Very sweet pils malt taste. Crisp and has a TON of this rice flavor. Light Bitterness with nothing but noble hops.

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, High Carbonaton, Sweet, and bites with malt.

Overall Impression- An easy going brew that I’ve always seen but never ordered/bought a store. Easy going and good overall for a German Pilsner.
