Totally generic, industrial feeling bock.
Appearance is brown with a small spritzy head leaving very scattered lace.

Smell is sweet and sour.

Taste is generic sweet malt, a little tinny. Incredibly quick finish.

Mouthfeel is thin.

Drinkability is poor from an interest or enjoyable standpoint. On the other hand, there's nothing to it, if you felt the need to chug. Bavaria is really going through the motions with this. Pass!

Beatiful brown color with grear red hue. Nice beige head that leaves medium lacing

On the nose it's a bit grassy at first. Some pilsner malts.Apricots maybe. Something slightly chemical.

Taste: caramel, with a light touch of citrus, some berries. Just a touch of toasted malts, then more sweetness, almost sugary. Green apple, apricot pudding.

Mouth: fresh, medium, slightly dry for such a sweet beer. Nice carbonation. Feels great.

Overall: this beer doesn't really know what it wants to be. The taste could be more outspoken and have more body, but it's actually quite good. Not a typical bock, so doesn't get high points for style, but this is quite drinkable.

Second beer of 2013: 30cl bottle BBD of 08-2013. Poured into a Westmalle chalice on 2nd Jan 2013.

Slightly disappointed with this to be honest: bog standard feel from start to finish.

Ruby red/brown body with a biege head. Looked good; sadly it went down hill from then on.

Malts all the way as you'd expect from a Bock: smell and taste dominated by sweet malty molasses with no complexity or class. This is just a sweet malty brew thrown together without care or consideration: most likely the worst Bock I've ever had. A headache in the making: couldn't have had another.

300 ml bottle, at home. Poured into my snifter glass. Ingredients are water, barley, wheat and hops.
Pours a dark ruby coloured beer, a couple of tones paler than other bocks I had recently but still, very beautiful. One and a half fingers of beige head, with very good retention. Some very light lacing left behind on the glass, where the foam has touched it.
Very strong aroma of caramel and roasted malts, then some toffee.
On the taste is sweet in general, with slighty bitter aftertaste. At first caramel and dark fruits, then a faint taste of dark bitter chocolate.
Thin to medium on the body and very dry on the palate. Carbonation is average.
Nice beer, easily drinkable.

Allthough it's spring, I thought i'd give this bockbeer a chance, as it suddenly appeared on the shelf at my local supermarket, right near where I pick my regular strong ales.

Chestnutbrown colour, clear with fluffy head, little carbonation.

Hardly any smell at all. Try very hard and there is a bit of malt and dark fruit.

Taste is harsh bitter, with some burned sugar. Roasted malts, but they are not very impressive

Light bodied, taste is gone quickly.

Easy drinkable, if you like bittersweet all on it's own.
(Editing this beer 11-2010, I found it was a bit better, fresh i guess. It had more aroma and flavour. It was still a bit harsh though. I upped the score of smell and taste a bit).

had this one on the Pint Bokbier festival.

In color a little lighter han most Dutch Bokbier.
Aroma reminds me of the candystore on a carnaval. Cottoncandy.
Taste is quite sweet and has little dark malt taste. More fruity and candy than malts.
Notes: more a strong amber than a Bokbier.

Read something on the 6-pack that this beer won "some" price in "some" tasting.

A: lightbrown amber colorand a head that goes instantly.

S: Hops, malts, minor hints of caramel.

T: Very light roasted malts, small trace of dark fruits. Tones of citrus and a bit bitter in aftertaste.

M: Watery almost like a pils. Medium carbonation.

D: Will pass on this one. I agree with Absumaster that this is a pimped up beer. A mixed up version of the regular bavaria pilsener.

Token member of style. Pours flat redish brown with littlest of head. Highly fizzy carbonated. Thinnish mouthfeel. Some dunkel malt in there, not very drinkable. Sweet more than bitter, but neither appealing. Nondiscript minimal malt and tin aroma. Softdrinkish.

This beer is a traditional Dutch bockbeer, top fermented and released each fall, when the days get shorter.

Color is dark ruby, brown, with a coarse head. Am easy going stream of carbonation rises to the top.

Smell is burned and roasted, with something artificial, it reminds me of rubber or wet hay. Also some banana.

Taste is roasted and heavy malty, some light caramellic notes. Again something strange in the taste, yeah this is like a new tyre, but then not very intense. The dark malts give the beer a liquorice and maltbitter taste. I can't help thinking this is a colored beer, that is not brown because of the dark malts, but by something chemical. Aftertaste is dry and bitter, quite nice, on the other hand the beer is pretty sticky, which I don't like. .
