I got this as a single for (believe it or not) 95 cents at Liquor Barn. They do crazy stuff like that there sometimes. Anyway...the appearance is about average on this one. It's clear with a medium gold color. The smell is very strong... it's a hoppy smell. Actually, the smell made me apprehensive to try it. The taste though, is decent. It does leave a bitter after-taste. But it's ok. The mouthfeel is just above average. It's almost too flat too me. (Maybe I drank it too cold, but there's not a lot of carbonation--I don't see many bubbles in the glass). The drinkablilty is above average. I could drink 2-3, but no way could I drink this one all night.

All-in-all, I'm glad I tried it. I'd drink it again for a buck a pop, but I don't find it too special.

Presentation: 12 oz stubby green bottle, states that the beer is brewed with crystal clear water, finest hops, select cereal grains and pure yeast … isn’t that what all American macro breweries put on their labels? No freshness date.

Appearance: Yellow straw colour with a semi sticky lace that fades to just a mere ring of lace.

Smell: Hmm … cooked cereal grain, ghost like DMS / cooked veggies and some husky grain make up the vaguely clean aroma.

Taste: Smooth with and odd crispness off the moderate carbonation, grain with undertones of cooked corn. Astringent flavours pull hard and leave a dry bitty mouth feel. Hops are processed and lean and add to the astringent flavours. More and more grain and astringency evenly flow, not to the point of not being drinkable. Big veggie after tastes is not pleasurable either.

Notes: Nothing like a crappy Dutch beer, Heineken may have done it right the bad way but this beer steals the show for being not only bland but with the imported lager taste too and doing it all the wrong way ... either way they are the same only this one is cheaper $$$ so buy this one over Heineken. This beer is just not happening at all.

Serving is chilled, in a pint glass. Pours golden straw with some head and very little lacing. Smell is clean and dry. Very grainy. Taste is smooth, of malted grain, but no bad aftertaste. Somewhat malty with hints of floral tones. A faint dry malt aftertaste, with a lot of graininess.Sweet and lightly malty taste in the end. For the price this is not too bad, will buy again. This cheap Euro beer is better than most of our domestic macros.

Pale hay color, absolutely clear with a whitish head of 1/8 of an inch of soapy bubbles. Sweet vegetal aroma, slight skunk, and little to zero hops. Flavor is slightly better than the aroma, slightly sour but with some peppery hop sense to offset the absolutely tasteless sweet mash. A bit of a weird hot cinnamon in the aftertaste. Doesn't generate enough flavor for me to have much of an opinion -- other than it doesn't have the dryness of a decent Pilsner nor the drinkability of a mid pack Lager.

Probably down there with heineken, but perhaps better at half the price, only drink in situations where your moneys running low, light fizzy, easy to drink, no character.

I simply won't mince words with this one, it's an absolutely terrible lager. The not-so-secret objective of this beer is nothing more ambitious than to make a low-cost alternative to Heineken, and to a certain degree they pull it off.

It's a pale yellow color, with a scent not unlike your average European-made Lager. The taste, at first, it oddly identical to Heineken, very light, very heavy on the fermented veggies.

The difference is in the aftertaste, which is oddly bitter, and with an absolutely disgusting astringency. At first, it's not so apparent, but the more you drink, the more the aftertaste spreads until after your second bottle, it's all you can taste.

Cheaper than even a 6-pack of Budweiser at my local grocery store, and for good reason. Avoid this one at any cost.

500ml can. Differentiating the offerings from this brewery is a chore in itself.

This beer pours a clear, medium golden colour, with two fingers of thinly foamy off-white head, which leaves some attractive honeycomb lace around the glass as it sinks away from sight.

It smells, well, it smells a hell of a lot better than most of its siblings - like actual beer, really - if you mean marginally cheap-ass, sweet grainy malt, and some generally inoffensive (parse that at you own peril) weak-ass leafy hops. The taste is pretty much just a lessened version of all those creamed corn gagfests of lager monstrosities we've all encountered at one time or another. That said, I'm well able to keep my lunch down with this one - the sugary, nondescript grainy malt and plain earthy hop simulacrum have me fooled enough to keep at it.

The carbonation is rather mild, the body medium-light, but suffering none for it, and tentatively smooth amongst some prickly edges. It finishes just off-dry, much less sweet than anticipated, just a murky pale malt and weirdly floral hop tango to middling applause.

By looking at the cumulative score, one might be a bit misled - not all things do well by dissection and investigation - sometimes an adequate stadium beer is just that - thankfully non-represented 'Orange' colours aside - a so-so, still drinkable lager, if only for a can or two. Nah, just the one, please.

Hollandia is one of those cheap averagely made beers, that only sell cause they are erally cheap, they should only be drunk if you get them for free, and there is nothing else to drink. Taste is rather average, slightly hoppy, tastes like a bad bad batch of Steinlager (and thats saying something). Still it's cheap.

Its crystal-clear straw-gold body reveals hundreds of average-sized bubbles rising quickly to fall in line beneath its creamy bright-white head. The retention is good and it holds a thin, creamy cap as well as leaving sheets of dappled lace. The nose is clean but offers little more than a mildly sweet, slightly grainy malt that's just lightly infused with leafy or herbal hops. The body is light bordering on medium; and it's crisp in the mouth. The flavor delivers a mildly sweet and lightly grainy malt that's solidified by an undercurrent of hop flavor and restrained bitterness. It finishes with a touch of sweet malt that dries fairly quickly.

Judging from some of the reviews I've read, cans are the way to go with this to get highest quality.

Pours slightly less pale than a usual pale lager. Some white head and minimal lacing.

Smell is grassy, honey straw type flavors typical of the style.

Tastes slightly sweet, with a slightly tart grassiness and a honey-bitter end. Leaves a distinctly honey aftertaste.

Sticky, squeaky mouthfeel. Kind of thin.

Overall, a very average beer, but not bad for a cheap lawnmower light. Just be sure to get the cans.

Pours to a deep golden color and thin white bubbly head. Aroma is skunks and rubber. Taste is cheap, dry eurolager crap. Finishes with a dryness that is not too bad. Overall, this is a crappy, smelly, cheap tasting beer that has few things going for it.

Thanks to woodychandler for the trade.Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, malts. Taste is also on the sweet side, some malts, a touch of bitterness. Feels light in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a good brew, great for a hot summer day.

A: Poured a clear, pale orange with a fizzy, bone white head that quickly dissipated without a lacing. Visible carbonation was light and sporadic.

S: A light wiff of skunkiness was emitted upon first opening. The nose yielded raw green vegetables (brocolli), was disappointing and very light in nature,(which was probably the only good thing about it).

T: a light showing of sour oranges, musky grains and fresh green vegetables. Some metallic nature was also detected and was overall pretty bland. Some maize makes a late entry and comes off pretty much like a Heineken flavor-wise.

M: light with some astringency and fizziness from the carbonation. Not a good feeling.

D: Drinkability was unimpressive, and didn't care to finish this one. A big pass here needless to say.

A- The coloration of this one is typically macro and Euro....pale gold, crystal clear and with lots of carbonation. The head disappears as quickly as it formed after the initial pour....whats left is a thin patchwork of soapy white film partially covering the beer. I do have to say that the the lacing is half decent looking, as it at least leaves behind some sticky clumps of foam on the glass, and they stay there too.

S- This is best summed up as follows (and in this order): corn, rice, barley malt, dry grass, no hops, and then more corn/rice. Very bland overall and again, smells eerily similar to an AAL.

T- When it's stated on the can that "select grains" were used, they must have meant that they use select cow corn in this beer...it is sweet initially, then finishes clean....too clean. This is very bland overall, following the aromas closely, and I think along with said corn adjunct, lots of white rice was used in this as well. In trying to find something positive, I can taste a hint of hop extract right after the swallow, as it leaves a bittering flavor down in my throat.

M- Thin, highly carbonated and 'sterile' clean, this Hollandaise beer has it all when it comes to nothingness on the palate...reminds me of a more flavorful Coors Light.

O- The only reason I bought this is b/c I honestly thought it was a nice beverage at a beer/wine/liquor festival that I attended....I was also hammered by the time I got around to sampling this one...it's no longer a 5/5 as I put in the book I had. On a hot day, this would be super refreshing I have to admit, but then so is Budweiser, and Bud is cheaper if I'm going that route! Not the absolute worst beer I've had but still....Thumbs down!

Very pale straw, snowy head dissipates to a tiny covering.
Massive skunk aroma, along with stale malty cardboard. Astringent.
More cardboard on taste with shortlived weak bitterness.
Feels watery, with little carbonation.
Not extremely offensive, but pretty dodgy all the same.
