Honestly, you've gotta love the kitsch/gall of a craft-brewed malt liquor...was glad to see Street Walker make a return to Portland's Spring Beer & Wine Fest this year; decided to make it it my first beer after a pouring shift on Saturday.
About 8 oz., poured to SBWF glassware (Listed at 8% abv).
A: Golden-honey color, faintly hazy. Barely any head, just a little sudsy whitish cream. Steady carbonation fills the glass.
S: Big aroma of flowery, sugar-sweet honey and juicy apples and only a slight 'creamed corn'. A nice light spicing, mild cinnamon.
T: Expectedly sweet, but not cloying. Has a nice spicy backing and a likable fruitiness (sweet apple, mostly) and a honeyed sugariness. A little bite of green apple skin before a dryer, chalk/powder creeps into the finish.
M: Crisp carbonation, almost sharp. Feels like a thinned syrup, a bit coating but smooth after getting used to the initial bite. Vague warmth, conceals the alcohol heft nicely.
D: Quite drinkable! I'm no connosieur of the style, but I could see the appeal if they ALL tasted as good as this...unfortunately they don't... Believe it or not, in some ways this reminded me of a strong Belgian Golden (dare I say Duvel?) - sweet, but spicy, deceptively strong, drying finish. Another winner from Walking Man!

I'm a closet fan of the malt liquors, and several of the local brewers have offerings in this areana. Last night the waitress brought me a sample of this and I was shocked. So I ordered a pint. Then another.
This beer is a rich and clear golden with a slight orange hue in the middle. There's just the slightest skimming of bubbles on top, and they're microscopic bubbles.
The aroma is very clean and reaks of quality ingredients. Everything is in proportion so you know that it is a malt liquor, but it smells way better than any before it. This is probably due to the quality of the ingredients, including the yeast, which adds a nice fruit compliment, and the appropriate lagering.
The taste is phenomenal. It's as if God wanted to slum it and had his own 40oz. There's sweet caramel and malt flavors, sour adjunct like (not sure if there are adjuncts) and apparent alcohol flavors, and each is in perfect form. A single sip tells you the whole story about what will happen to you.
This is dangerously drinkable, and compliments food well. This is possibly the perfect malt liquor - smooth and troubling.

Pale yellow color, slightly hazed, massive turbidity, under a slim white cap.
Nose is grain and sweet fruit, nice and malty,and...and surprisingly nice! Rather soft, rosy, and pleasing. No "real" malt likka smells remotely like this!
Taste: clean, smooth and malty-sweet, but not too much so. Delicious! This has to be an all-malt malt likka, I'm not feeling any adjuncts in the flavor here. Almost candyish in the sweetness, but never like corn. And the higher alcohol, though just right for the style, never quite sticks out...perhaps I'll feel it in glass #2?
Whoop, here it comes!
Exquisitely drinkable, too. I can't find anything not to like in this malt likka. If it is one. This tastes too good to fit the category!
much thanks to my invisible hand in Seattle!
