The poured this beer out of a 12 ounce bottle into large tasting glass served cool

The beer appears very light straw in color with a nice foamy white head

The smell of the beer is flowery sugary with the light grain scent

The beer has a nice floral white sugar flavor with a very slight medicinal finish

Well carbonated and very light pillow like mouth feel on the palate

I find this beer to be a very nice drinking beer. It's flavors are clean and very late and represent the style very well

Poured from the bottle into a stemmed wine glass.

Crystal clear brass lemon yellow, not too bright. Thick fluffy white head three fingers tall off the pour and some scattered shampoo like lacing.

Aroma is clean, kind of a nice mellow grainy sweetness. Thin honey sensing, but also a bit balanced between dry and sweet. Riced aroma as expected but smells quite decent.

Palate is mild crisp with a bit of corny sweet like finish. Mellow clean finish with a simple light honey sweetness. Simple airy and light. Not overly fussel or flawed either but not much more to say.

Overall it is what a rice forward made beer is, go eat this with some shrimp crackers and it's probably the best pairing. But it doesnt get more exciting than that.

Bought this in Los Angeles. Pours a medium yellow with a nice white head. A fair amount of carbonation yet when I drink it there is not much carbonation at all. Almost flat. This is your typical malt beer that is clean. Not much body and nothing that stands out.

500ml bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Clear gold-tinted yellow. Fizzy white head dissipates immediately. No lacing.

Smell: Soft cologne-y hop aroma is the dominant aroma. No skunk (thank you for using brown bottles). Some light breadiness underneath. Very faint lagery tang. Pleasant aroma.

Taste: Unexpectedly sweet up front. Decent burst of malt flavor leading to what-might-be-rice and moderate dryness. Pretty clean flavors, and refreshing despite the body and not-really-bone-dryness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, almost creamy. Pretty dry, but not as dry as a pale lager like this ought to be. Sufficient carbonation. Seems weird in a way but it works.

Overall: It's no premium German lager, but there's good flavor here, and nothing off. Simple, but flavorful enough. Could easily drink a lot of this, especially on a hot day. Not half bad. Much better than Sapporo and the like.

500ml bottle -from La Tienda de la Cerveza (Madrid)- Lager glass. Golden color, crystal clear appearance. Brief crown, white in color. Lager yeast, cereal, slight sweet aromas, herbal notes & minty hues to the nose. Malty, dried & voluptuous upfront. Light to medium body. Moderate to high carbonation. Sweet maltiness & rice touched by slight spicy flavors then clean & bitter flavor arises & lingers into a long bitter/sweet finish. Bitter aftertaste. Much better than regular Japanese Lagers.

Bottle at Sushi Roko, Santa Monica, CA

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down and left a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of adjunct malts are present in the nose—rice and corn seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste very much follows the smell and has bits of malty sweetness and bitterness. It becomes a little sweeter as Tge beer warms up.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer pairs well with Japenese cuisine. It is easy to drink and the adjunct malts aren't too strong.

17 oz bottle. Pours pale straw with white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of sweet malt and a hint of noble hops. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of herbal, leafy hops and sweet malt. Finish is long and dry. There is some taste in this brew.

Poured from bottle (purchased at K&L in Redwood City) into Cantillon glass.

A: Clear, light golden. Small head that quickly dissipated.

S: A bit of honey in the smell, but certainly not too aromatic. And there are actually some more interesting notes in there that are too subtle to pick out. Surprisingly decent.

T: Clean, clean, clean. It doesn't taste like much, but it's just impeccably balanced. Unlike crappier lagers, it doesn't have an unpleasantly malty finish or anything off-putting. A touch of corny and/or ricey malt notes, some balancing hoppiness, and just an overall bright freshness.

M: Fairly lively but the carbonation wen out quickly, giving way to a creamier texture.

O: Lagers may not be my favorite beers, but this is one solid example of the style.

500 mL bottle, $9.99 at Mitsuwa Marketplace.

Pours a pale clear gold, rising trails of carbonation visible, huge head of sticky foam with a creamy surface texture. Long lasting head retention and excellent staying power. Drippy lace all around the glass forming irregular patterns.

Slightly floral aroma, honeyish malt sweetness, and what i'd assume to be malted rice.

Taste is no revelation, basic pilsener malts and puffed rice, drying in the finish. Carbonation is somewhat mellow, lending to the drinkability somewhat. Bright and somewhat crisp, it's a utilitarian summer refresher.

Overall not worth the high pricetag for premium ingredients, fancy label, or importation costs. Guessing all of the above are contributing factors to a $10 rice lager.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pilsener glass

Pours a brilliant translucent light gold capped by a two finger billowing white head. Herbal notes, fresh grass, light floral accents and subtle hints of pear. Opens with fresh herbal notes and green, light honey notes, apple skin, transitioning to apple flesh. Finishes with delicate floral notes and continued light fruit notes. Light body that feigns heavier at times, abundant carbonation. Slick and smooth with every so light touches of syrup on the edges. I really enjoyed this brew which is fantastic example of the style.

(Served in a flute)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear bright yellow with a strong carbonation of big bubbles and a pale white head that boils away.

S- The clean soft aroma has a green sulfur hint and a flinty wet rice note to the finish.

T- The dry field corn finish is all I get from the first few sips. Some slight sweetness comes through as it opens and a carbonic acid and green sulfur note grow in the finish. There is a slight pungent note that lingers in the dry finish.

M- The light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat noticed.

O- The nice clean light beer has some interesting but soft flavors, and the touch of sweetness really helps. I’m not sure it was worth the $7.99 price for 500 ml but it was nice to try.
