750ml bottle wrapped in paper bought from Beerritz, Knaresborough...
Poured a golden yellow colour with a slight haze. Slightly off white head poured massively thick and foamy with a whipped meringue like topping then faded slowly to good covering with thick edging... barely any carbonation bubbles... lots of sticky lacing all the way down the glass...
Aroma - Juicy tart fruits (grapefruits, pears, lemons, sour apples), marzipan, rubbery notes, very floral and perfumed hops, very grassy, earthy and grainy notes, soapy traces, light biscuity malts, faint toffee and honey sweetness, talcum powder...
Taste - Juicy and slightly spicy fruits (grapefruits, lemons and limes, pear drops sweets), some yeastiness, good citrus and grassy hops bitterness, slight chalkiness, pale malts, faint metallic notes, quite herbal...
M&D - Quite sharp and dry... light bodied... At only 5% a good sessionable IPA
Overall - An excellent British take on an American IPA if a little rough round the edges... deserves to better known. Recommended...
