Dark brown with ruby red hints. Good head and lacing.

Aroma: Coffee, leather, sugar, roasted malts.

Taste: Smoky and very roasted and burnt . Dark chocolate mousse and (instant?) coffee flavours are apparent. This beer is also fairly bitter and therefore well balanced.

Mouthfeel: Carbonated and fizzy and a little watery.

Overall, a good, but not outstanding porter with quite a lot of bitterness and burnt smoky flavours. Not as superbly crafted or delicious as Fullers London porter.

With the common porter profile already exhibiting a robust coffee flavor from roasted barley, its that coffee character that's expounded upon as Meantime brewers ramp up its earthy and hearty roast with assertive additions of the magical bean.

And like any mere mortal of a porter would, it pours a gentlemanly dark brown topped with a mocha meringue. One whiff gives the nose something slightly more than roasted grain- its coffee spice is evident. The first sips reward the palate with wonderful burnt sugar, toffee and a creamy (almost marshmallowy) taste and texture.

Over the middle, its body wavers considerably, going from creamy and sweet to toasty and dry. With sweetness receding, elements of cocoa, roasted walnut, burnt toast and obvious dark-roast coffee pull forth and gives a sense of drinkability.

Its finish is malty-dry and approaching medium-light at times. Aided with coffee-type bitterness, slight acrid cocoa, and the broad and woodish bitterness from hops; the beer concludes with a long earthen and toasted linger. Its a robust taste that's likely well suited for chili and bittersweet chocolate.
