330ml bottle, consumed Jun 2011, BBE Feb 2012.

A - Hazy reddish body with a rapidly dissipating head, leaving a light cover and lacing.

S - Distinct tart raspberry and other fruit notes take the lead on the aromas, with some sweeter wheat notes following.

T - Similar to the aromas, tart, bitter raspberry and fruit notes dominate, with a light hint of wheat and yeast on the back end. Leaves a slightly dry, mild fruit aftertaste.

M - Smooth and light bodied, gently lingering aftertaste.

O - Overall, quite a nice one when you're looking for something light, either on its own or as a session.

Pours a hazy golden red. Plenty of fresh raspberry on the nose, and a little bit herbal. Nice. A great mouthfeel, nice acidity and delicate, creamy bubbles. The taste is nice at the beginning. Plenty of raspberry in a toned-down geuze like frame. The sour flavours are in check. My only problem comes at the finish, where I notice a bit of meat-like brettanomyces. Too bad, because it takes away from what would otherwise be a nice, refreshing beer. It's not so bad that I won't drink it, however!

This beer is outstanding, starting with the water, which reminded me a sulphurous water. Aroma of raspberry, hops and malt. Astringent. Flavor: acidic, sour, bitter and dry finish. Slightly sour, reminding even a Lambic / Geuze. Surprises me greatly, and for me, is the best representative of the Meantime family. Sipped with cheese (Brie), or with berries, is a delight. Very good and different.

Appearance
Pours a hazy red, medium carbonation bubbles but no head to speak of. The colour is very appealing.

Smell
Fruity, zesty smell. Some sense of tartness or acidity in the aroma.

Taste
A little sweetness and quite a bit of tartness coming through. The name is very appropriate as it tastes just like a fresh raspberry - sweet and zingy. Little bit of taste lingers at the back of the mouth for a short time.

Mouthfeel
Medium, punchy carbonation and a medium body. The carbonation is just right as it doesn't interfere with the taste of the beer.

Overall
A wonderful beer for relaxing on a hot day, very refreshing and the taste is not sickeningly sweet as a lot of fruit beer can be. A fine example of a fruit beer.

Coming in a 330ml classy curvy brown bottle, this version is called "Raspberry Grand Cru", at 6.5%abv. BB 12/06/09, served chilled in a slim goblet.

A: pours a translucent dark amber hue with a slight reddish hue, coming with a well-lasting foamy beige head (again, with reddish hues) and constant, lively but fine carbonation.
S: sharp orange and raspberry juice comes with a milder edge of wheat beer; as it breathes, the sweet edge gets more pronounced with plenty of sweet fruits to show, as well as a more assertive input of banana-ish bubble-gum yeasts and wheat-ish malts. Slightly too sweet overall, but the base of hefe-weizen style wheat beer is quite pronounced.
T: pretty effervescent upfront - a strangely sharp & rough bitter and tannic taste of watery raspberry juice-drink prevails, on top of a lightly metallic undertone, very thin wheatiness, and a lingering chewy aftertaste of yeasts; sour-bitter in the finish, slightly zesty at times as well... Interestingly, the flavour from the beginning to the finish seems to stay the same, showing a rather static and rather dull profile...
M&D: the carbonation comes a tad too sharp upfront, on top of a light body and a hard-to-describe flavour. Although it's easy to drink, the raspberry juice part seems to be out of pace with the wheat-ish beer base, hence a quite messy flavour profile that fails to make this a memorable or tasty fruit wheat beer.
