Cool tall blue bottle (Pretty much the reason I picked this up)
Poured into a flute, it's a very pale yellow with a decent head and loads of carbonation.

Grain and malt in the smell, pretty much exactly as one would expect from a pilsener. Maybe some flowery aroma hiding in there.

More grain in the flavour and some good bitterness, pretty strong taste for a pilsener which counts in it's favour, otherwise it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Light body makes for easy drinking.

Overall it's a good pilsener but it doesn't bring anything special to the table aside from the blue bottle.

Gulpener Chateau Neubourg has a thin, off-white head, a golden, bubbly, somewhat murky appearance, and a good amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is strong and pungent- strong barley malt, a touch of hop resin, and biscuit. Taste is similarly strong, with a noticeable sugary sweetness and a grassy hop bitterness for balancing. Mouthfeel is medium, and Gulpener Chateau Neubourg finishes mostly dry, filling, and good. Check it out!

Tall, thin blue bottle (33cl), nicely packaged beer, obtained in Holland during a resent beer buying mission.

Third beer in my 23 Oct 2010 'Pilsner/Lager reviewing evening'. The brew had a best before date of Apr 2011 and poured into a 'Veltins' stemmed tulip.

Score of three for a non-smelling lager/pilsner, the beer however looked fine a typical Czech Pilsner even down to the way the head lost its depth straight away.

Crisp, dry and refreshing, again just like a true Czech Pilsner.

Mr average to be honest, in almost all aspects.

Poured from a 330 ml blue bottle. The bottle itself looks so nice, I don't see beers in blue bottles that often.
Its colour is deep golden yellow and it produces a one finger head which stays for relatively ong time.
Strong smell of malts.
Great, strong taste, as bitter as I like it!
Medium thickness on the palate and quite carbonated.

10.1 fl oz bottle copped from New Beer Distributors in Manhattan...
Appearance: Light, hazy orange hue with a minimal head and hardly any lacing...
Smell: Oranges, tangerines, fruity, floral aroma...
Taste: Heavy on the nectarines, slight hints of fruits, oranges, and watermelon... Sweet finish...
Light-bodied...
Easily drinkable...
Unremarkable, but refreshing nonetheless...

Gulpener Neubourg Pilsner pours about a finger
of foam over a clear golden brew. Carbonation starts
off brisk, but falls off to slow and steady. The nose is
not bad- slightly fruity light barley malt. The flavor is
a bit tart up front, flowery, slightly vinous even, with a mild
peppery herbal hop off the back. Mouthfeel is semi-dry, light,
and crisp. There's a bit of grassy-ness in the aftertaste, and a lot
of lacing left in the glass. The label states that it's brewed from
"ecologically grown summer barley, hops grown from the
brewery's own fields". Ecological it might be, but not to the point
where it gets the USDA organic logo on the label. Not a bad little
pilsner, though. Well worth a try.

Just moved to Atlanta from Holland and was real happy to find out that they sold Chateau Neubourg in Atlanta. What a great tasting beer, and knowing abit about it's background, I have to say that it's an organic beer made in Holland is enjoyable with many different meals. And I love the Blue Bottle, it compliments the taste of the beer to help you feel like you are really drinking something special.

Yeah, I am a fan of this beer!

This beer pours a clear golden color. The head is one inch in height, and recedes slowly into decent lacing. The aroma bready malt, hints of light caramel, and soft spicy noble hops. The taste is like the aroma. It is well balance with a little more hops the malt, but that is what makes a nice Pilsener. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied, with lively carbonation. Overall, this is a nice Pilsener that I could easily drink again.

BB 11-05. No overwelming head and golden colored beer make this brew avarage in appearance. Malty nose with litle bit citrussy like hops. Far from fresh maltyness giving lots of paper. Taste is also quiet common with maybe litle more malts but avarage bitterness and papertaste make this one just an avarage brew certainly not worth the extra money IMO. Far from fresh mouthfeel either. Drinkability is about the same a common dutch lager.

Poured a 10.1 oz bottle into a pint glass, producing a nice full head. Golden color. Nice taste, seems more a saison taste then pilsner but a nice finish, smooth throughout. Heavy lacing remained as I enjoyed this brew. Worth trying. I would not hesitate to have another.

I found this wonderful imported craft in the beautiful " blue bottle" in Atlanta. What a great little find. The bottle itself prompted many comments, inquiries and curious samplings from the other patrons around me.

This pilsner is anything but ordinary. It pours clean and is a visually striking yellow-gold with a very white full bodied head. The taste is very memorable-full with a slightly nutty finish. It is 33 IBU's, but far more sessionable than other European Pilsners. At 5.6 ABV it hits the spot, but is certainly beer that you would want and can have 3-4 in a sitting.

Gulpener's Chateau Neubourg has redefined pilsner for me.

Chateau Neubourg is sold now in Atlanta I love the fresh taste and the elegant blue bottle.
I tasted Neubourg on draft when visiting Holland earlier this year.
That was quite an experience. Over there draft beer is served at a temperature of about 50 F. I believe that at that temperature the beer tastes much better
The ABV is 5.50 % , not 5.00%

From a female perspective: I love this beer! It tastes perfect with absolutely everything. Drinking it from the tall glass is the only way it should be served. It feels like I drink something exclusive and when I look at the bottle, it is so pretty (sorry guys). I have been a big fan of all Gulpener beers and am so happy that Chateau Neubourg is now served in Atlanta. Only wishing it is going to be served soon in my neck of the woods.
