Bottle of 300 ml, another one on my series of spring bocks.

This one has a deep copper colour, with a two finger head, kind of soapy but with very good retention. Minimal activity in the glass.
Distreer aroma of hops. Taste is sweet, refreshing, some caramel in it.On the palate comes with medium thickness and slighty too carbonated.
Overall a great spring bock! (366 characters)

Tasting this one blind. Nice white head and a orange/cupper beercolor. Nose is lots of 4-vinylguiacol and very spicy& sweet. Somehow not what you expect from a lentebok witch I think should be fruity and fresh. Taste is also spicy, just litle sweet and quiet bitter for a dutch beer. Mouthfeel is good but drinkability suffers under the spicyness witch you just don't expect in a springbock. (391 characters)

Hele mooie kleur. Iets te zware smaak voor een frisse lentebok (62 characters)

Was pleasantly surprised by this beer. For a bottom fermented spring bock, this has a nice amount of flavor in both smell and taste. Probably not as refreshing as a spring bock is supposed to be (i guess that's why it's classified as a regular Bock on BA), but all in all definitely worth a try. (295 characters)

Appearance: Copper color, good 2 finger white firm foam.

Smell: Malts, bit of sweetness, but mainly a bit of a sour undertone.

Taste: Full bodied taste for a lentebock (Springbock). Some sweet and sour combo malts going on. Hard to define real tastes because the sour is just overpowering. It's a bit like caramel, with a sour undertone followed by a bitter. Has a long aftertaste, but thick feeling and mainly sour.

Mouthfeel: Low carbonation. Quite thick for a Lentebock. Doesn't have that refreshing feel.

Overall: Not the best of Gulpener's. It lacks the freshness a Lentebock should have. It also lacks balance and the sour is ruining it for me. I enjoyed the Leffe's one more. (688 characters)
