A: Solid gold, but little carbonation that quickly dissipates and no lacing.
S: Earthy sour but a slight sweetness.
T: Better than any German made pilsner I've. There's a perfect amount of honey sweetness, earthy bitter/sourness
M: Good for a pilsner, small carbonation bubbles and slightly sharp like the gnawings of a miniature rodent on your finger.
O: I attest, the Dutch do it better! Unsure whether this beer adheres to the reinheitsgebot, but whatever they're doing, it's superior.

30cl brown bottle: best before Feb 2013. Poured into a Duvel glass @ home on 7th Nov 2012.

Looks like all the other Pilsner/Lagers in the world: clean, clear, bright and golden, the snow white head tried to stay around.

Corn, metallic notes and cardboard in the nose: luckily it has a strange undertone of flavours that helped to counteract the aromas.

Within the taste I found semi-sweet maltiness and a mild hop bitterness vieing for domination with the malts winning at first, the hops coming into their own as the mouth drys. This was a lot more complexed than I first thought.

Body depth was fine (for a Pilsner) and the carbonisation was good, one of the better Pilsners I've had for a while.

Recently Gulpener introduced a new series of beers, made of biological ingredients. The series consists of Pilsner, a Weizen and an Amber. I start with the Pilsner, which, it saddens me to sat, was a dissapointment.
Bottle of 300 ml, poured into a pilsner glass. Head was white, one finger in height. Quickly it had dissappeared, leaving no lacing around the glass whatsoever. In colour is golden yellow, but much paler than your average pilsner. Activity in the glass is average, or minimal, better to say.
Smell was quite skunky, although I got the bottle from a 6pack, so I don't think it was that exposed to the sun. Very strong corn smell too.
The taste is a bit skunky too but the worst is the hay taste, it wouldn't bother me that much but this is like they took hay from a stable. Seriously, is really bad. The aftertaste leaves some bitterness behind, but it's overwhelmed by the corn flavour. The only good on this one is the body, which is at least as good as any other pilsner.
Overall, I don't think this one will ever find its way into my house, at least not bought by me.
