Received bottle from forgetfu...thanks Bill! 22oz bomber with a simple label on it, reads:
70D Belgian-Style Lambic or Sour Ale
2011 Great American Beer Festival
Pours brown in color, similar to an Iced Tea. Poured into my Drie Fonteinen tumbler. Huge frothy white head rises and very slowly dissipates. In fact, the last 1/2 inch of head remain for a long period of time. Fantastic sticky lacing all over the glass. The legs pretty much remained glued to the glass sides.
Aroma is ok. Not a lot going on to be honest. Some sour cherries, distant. Belgian yeast, wood.
Flavor is pretty close to smell. Some wood, mild tartness/sour cherries, more brett noticeable then any other wild yeast. Late funk in the swallow. Plenty carbonated
Overall, a tasty sour...nothing over the top, nothing bad. It's just good. An easy drinker as well.
