"American-Style Pale Ale uses Centennial, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops to give a fresh citrus aroma, with hints of grapefruit and pine. 5.5% ABV"

Had from tap tonight at Bar Gernika in Boise... Pours with a decent enough sudsy white head... okay lacing... the brew is a dark golden, but very clear.

The nose is amazing for a pale ale... huge citrus with a lesser piney element... maltiness is there, but blown out of the water by the hops.

Flavor is a fantastic IPA without the bitterness... just a resinous/juicy citrus.

Body is light and the bubbles were spot-on.

This is one of the best straight American Pales I have ever had... Very glad to know Barley Brown's is carrying the hoppy tradition in Shawn's absence.

Huge hop aromas, sweet bright citrus.
Very clear and light bodied
This is my favorite of Barley Brown's two current APA's the other being Tumble Off. I always seek it out when it's pouring around town

poured from a growler that was filled earlier today.

Clear, brassy, golden with a thin, foamy white head.

Light citrus and pine notes with a crackery malt backbone. Light bodied, medium carbonation.

Well done pale ale. A bit thin bodied at times, but a tasty flavor profile regardless.

While not quite in the same category with beers like zombie dust, bone-a-fide and RR Hill/Row, this is still a very tasty, hop driven pale ale. The low alcohol makes for a very easy to drink (in mass quantities) pale ale as well.

Growler from Uptown Market.

Pouring a burnished copper with a dense, off white head with decent retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is pungently hoppy with a pronounced grapefruit pith, pine and plenty of citrus. Mandarin, citrons, mildly tropical with hints of mango and papaya. Just a touch of burnt sugar is present on the nose. Awesome.

The palate opens with a beautiful hop character, bright, pungent and refreshing with a pleasing, resiny bitterness with gobs of fruit as a counterpoint. Tangerine, grapefruit, green grapes, mango, citrons... This really is a fruit riot. The mid palate has a hint of sweetness that only amplifies the juicy palate. Drying on the finish with a resiny bitterness, this beer is light in body, moderately carbonated and is just a treat. A hint of a chalky, mineral like character is also present on the finish. Awesome. This new-to-me brewpub is really impressing me.

Served on tap into an imperial pint glass.

A- Poured a very clear light golden color with tons of streaming carbonation, soapy white head that left lots of splashy lace.

S- Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, pineapple, peach, and mango. Some malt sweetness. Not an overpowering aroma but very hop forward.

T- Huge juicy tropical fruit notes of mango, peach, pineapple, grapefruit and some pretty prominent piney hop notes. Some sweet caramel malt and biscuity malt notes. Moderate to high bitterness, pungent hoppiness, and exploding with juicy and fruity hop flavors.

M- Dry, medium body, and prickly carbonation.

O- An extremely hop forward pale ale that reminds me a lot of Zombie Dust and Scuplin in the flavor profile. Definitely would have confused this as an IPA in a blind taste test, but all the Pale Ale, IPA, and DIPA lines are pretty blurry nowadays anyway.
