Appearance- Gorgeous beer. Pours up about a finger's worth of head which has pretty good retention. The head is a creamy, pure cotton white while the body is a chestnut brown which shows hints of maroon and dark amber when held up to the light. Patches of sheeting abound.

Nose- Subtle but complex. I'm really beginning to appreciate the class expressed by these milder, English styles. Slightly vinous- mainly raisin with light citrus notes- mainly lemon, some orange. Brown sugar, molasses, and brown bread as well.

Taste- Not quite as complex as the nose. A pervasive chalk note with mild aspects of earth, grass, and woodiness (oak). There is a lot of lemon on the front. Biscuit, cereal, and grain provide the foundation for the flavor profile. Light floral characteristics. A little grit on the dry finish makes me think of oatmeal. There are some sour notes which suggest rye or pumpernickel. Above average beer seems to be a good representation of the style. No flaws but is a little boring. Above average to good. Some raisins as well.

Mouthfeel- Between light and medium bodied with a healthy amount of carbonation which has some zing. A little gritty and a light chalky on the dry finish.

Drinkability- Very easygoing, which is the point of this style. This is what more low alcohol beers should be like. 4 bucks for a pint seems reasonable.

Overall- Above average. Good representation of the style. Probably won't try this again but I really enjoy how much this echoes Don Vanuchi.
