Appearance- Crimson with a dirty tan head. Great lacing.

Smell- Holy pine trees, Batman!! This is a fantastic smelling beer!

Taste- herbal, grassy. Not at all like the smell.

Mouthfeel- Good mouthfeel. Doesn't thicken up until it warms.

Overall- Very good beer. I wish the taste matched the aroma. Starts to get a little thick and syrupy as it warms. I would definitely have this again, though.

On tap at Barley Browns, 10 oz. tulip, thanks Shawn, 8.3.11.

One finger light brown head, medium-slow dissipation with good lacing, nice spider-legs. Garnet red clear body, multiple trails of lazy rising small bubbles. Holy Sh*t, one great friggin' smelling beer, crystal and caramel malt sweetness, some toffee notes along with stone fruit, balanced by citrus hops, grapefruit. The taste is hop forward, this is Barley Brown's after all, the Citra and Amarillo combination remind you this is some of Baker City's finest, nicely balanced with significant malt bill, more crystal than caramel, yummy. Mouthfeel just on the full side of medium, light effervescence leading to a piney resiny finish. Along with Laurelwood's Deranger, the best Imperial Red I've had. I'll be **very** surprised if this doesn't medal at GABF. Dope sh*t, for fans of the style, it doesn't get any better than this. Worth the drive to Baker City.
