Multiple pints on tap at Barley Brown's, 2.2.12.
Very light clear gold body, multiple streams of small bubbles rising to surface, one finger white head, medium dissipation with nice lacing. Good Grief, the quintessential Barley Brown's nose, more tropical than citrus, mango and grapefruit aroma, no noticeable malt in the nose probably due to omission of caramel, really clean. The taste is an attack on the sense in three stages, tropical notes up front, mango and peaches, meyer lemon and grapefruit in the middle, leading to bitter finish, re grapefruit pith not pine resin. Mouthfeel is clean and light, leading to an enjoyable dry finish. While a bit on the light side color-wise for the style, a pure tour de force by the master of big ass hoppy beers, perfectly out of balance. I consider myself fortunate that I was able to try this one-off, this batch probably won't last more than a week! A world class IPA.
