Shop: Shop of Burg Bier Brouwerij in Ermelo
Glass: De Koninck Chalice
Name on Label: Tripel-B
Image on Label: stylized castellated wall, barley spike, orange colour
Ingredients according to label: blond malt, yeast, spring water, hops
Expiry date: XXJUNXX (marking at year misses, but bought at the brewery just last week and therefore assumed to be fresh)
copper-gold clear body (didn't pour the yeast sediment); half finger medium to coarse foam that reduces to almost nothing quickly; minimum lacing; little and fine carbonation
smells of lemon, yeast, apples
tastes like a typical tripel and does well on balancing sweet, sour and bitter with the latter dominating a bit. some metallic taste
not much carbonation just a little fizzle, smooth and full
This is may be the most typical but also mediocre tripel ever. Except that the taste is more than ok and the almost non-existent carbonation is a let down. Not a bad idea to pick it up, but chances are high that where ever you get this one there will be much more interesting tripels around, particularly in the Burg bierwinkel in Ermelo.
