This beer left beautiful lace, would have received a 5 save for it was a bit cloudy and cask beers are usually clear in my experience. Color was medium amber, aroma was a bit subdued as was the taste profile. hops were there just a little mellow, not bad at all. Cask beers are usually smoother anyway. A good drinkable beer and a top choice at this pub.

Amber hued with a slight haze. Good head retention and lacing. Nose offers an oldschool citrus and pine hop profile, clean fermentation, crystal malt sweetness. Palate is heavy, slightly slick, orange peel and pine hop flavors backed by a fair bit of sweetness. Bitter, sticky finish. No major flaws here, but not terribly enjoyable.

Arrived here at steelhead in Burlingame Ca after accidentally finding this brewery in a search while down in San Jose.
Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking across the street at the train station. Hint: bring quarters. Fortunately at this time of evening meters are off.
On to the beer. I ordered the cask Bombay Bomber APA (American Pale Ale). Served at 60F or so, proper temp for the cask. Nice creamy looking head on the beer. Standard pint glass. Cloudy Apricot color. Head still hanging in there even after 10 min of sipping. Sticks to the wall of the glass. Robust!
Taste is fair, hoppy as you'd expect. No grapefruit notes, vague citrus. This doesn't have the mouthburst that the Fate American Pale Ale has, it just doesn't seem to be very well defined.
I might have it again, but I wouldn't seek it out.
Cheers!

Review from 7/19/12, on tap at Steelhead Brewpub in Burlingame, CA: pours very cloudy orange color like guava juice with a small creamy tannish head that faded slowly and left good foamy lacing clinging to the sides and rings as it went down.
Smells of citrus hops, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest, floral hops, light grains, sweet malt, caramel, faint brown sugar and some tea leaf; nice fresh hop smelling aroma with good malt balance.
Tastes of citrus hops, pineapple, orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest, floral hops, light grains, sweet malt, caramel, faint brown sugar, piney hops, coriander and other light spices like pepper and tea leaf, and a mild bitterness; the hop sweetness is spot on and this beer flows down easy with a nice mix of juicy citrus hops and subtle bready notes.
Mouthfeel is smooth with a little zip from the tight carbonation, a citrus punch and bitterness, with a medium body and slightly grainy bitter finish that ends sweet somehow. Nice micro-pub brew that was tasty and could be session-able.

On-tap at Steelhead Burlingame
A: The pour is a slightly hazy golden amber color with a white head and some nice lacing.
S: A really good citrus hop aroma to the nose to start things off. Plenty of tropical fruit notes, particularly pineapples, too. Pretty straightforward, but really nice.
T: The hop flavor is really big and juicy with a fair amount of citrus/grapefruit and lots of pineapple. There's a bit of a caramel flavor as well as some mild breadiness that weren't really noticeable on the nose.
M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation.
D: A surprisingly solid IPA. I really quite liked this beer and would definitely not have a problem ordering it if I find myself at Steelhead again.

I think this is Steelheads best beer- at least at this location, although I seem to remember liking their IPA best at the Eugene location as well.
Pours a somewhat hazy golden with a thin white head.
Nice hoppy nose of pine and citrus.
Taste has a nice bitterness, especially up front. Grapefruit and spicy hops and a lingering grapefruit juice flavor on the finish. Not super complex, but very satisfying.
Mouthfeel is a little sappy and oily, and the beer is a tad on the thin side bodywise, but these are minor issues.
Drinks very well, and easy to have several.
