I recently got a beer book from our local library and was reading up on some of the Wisconsin Breweries and ran across this place. I’ve lived 30minutes away from this place all my life and never even knew about it. I have a brother attending UW-Whitewater so we ventured in there on a Thursday night for dinner. The place is fairly big with a bar to the left and dinning to the right, very much the typical Wisconsin style supper club. We each ordered a sampler of 6 beers and I indulged in a 16oz glass after that. The food was decent with a lot of choices and a courteous staff. The beer could be better though. I wish I could explain what’s wrong with it, but a lot of them are just bland and not very bold with flavor as their style would suggest. Still, I recommend trying it to form your own opinion of the place. I’ll be back for more bland beer in the near future!

One more stop in the tour.
Restaurant with a bar that serves home brew. Pretty simple. The beer was less than impressive and the young servers were more interested in their night of drinking and grab assing than actual serving.
About 6 house brews and a handful of BMC. They did have a BA barley wine but since it was 85 degrees outside I wasn't in the mood. The quality of the beers I had already drank didn't urge me to order anything else either.
Didn't order food so can't comment on that.
Overall MEH. Just another tick in the beerfly belt.

Randy's is an oasis of decent beer in the otherwise macroswill environs of Whitewater. My in-laws have a house on a nearby lake, and a visit to them always entails at least one trip to Randy's.
Over the years, the emphasis has shifted from a traditional brewpub to a restaurant that happens to brew its own beer. The beers are solid (Brown Ale, Pilsner), but not particularly exciting. A few (Oktoberfest) are waay out of style. Still pleasant, but not what one would expect. All seem geared to complement the food, which is fine by me.
The cuisine is typical upper-midwest with lots of burgers, steaks, cheese and potatoes. They do a good job with the classic fish fry, and either perch or walleye are usually available fresh.
Service is always decent, but beer knowledge does not seem to be part of the training. Randy's does get crowded on weekend nights, but the handy sign in the parking lot lets you know if there is a wait. The place is bigger than you think, so don't let the crowded lot scare you away.
