3rd lustrum jubilee brew, a tripel (by a recipe from 1501), I'm presuming it's brewed only once, or at least only this year.

Golden ale, 3 fingers fluffy head in my Chimay glass, modest carbonation.
Smell and taste of a classic tripel: hoppy, malty, yeasty, some spices. Bittersweetness with a mildly dry finish.

Especially the hoppy bitter dry finish makes this beer very good. It covers most of the 9% of alcohol.
It makes this tripel a good jubilee brew.

Poured from a 30cl bottle into a tulip.

A - Murky golden colour with plenty of yeast deposits. Minimal head.

S - Sweet caramel malts and some bitey herbs & licorice. Specifically coriander according to the label.

T - Chewy caramel malt flavour with some bitter herbs.

M - Some spices on the tongue at first but the big malt coating dominates.

O - The scent is the most dominant element of this drink - it virtually overpowers the liquid taste as you consume. Fortunately it is a pleasant aroma so this is enjoyable enough to drink. Like all triples I'm sure there's more flavours to be had here but will need to try a few more to confirm.

A - Pours a cloudy honeycomb colour, witha n off white head that retains well, classi ctripel appearance.

S - The smell is tart spice ans slightly sweet musty fruits.

T - Start is sweet and some light fruits follows with some boozt spiciness, finish is bitter
and boozy.

M - A little too much carbonation and medium body.

O - Not a bad tripel but there are better examples.

Pours a cloudy orange colour, slighty dusty, with head that is off-white, fairly dense with not a lot of retention; sinks to a thin cloud on the top but a nice sticky ring of dense, tight lace around the glass. Quite tripelly and pretty good.

Smells pretty decent as well. Nice rich fruit, slight tartness but also a touch of bitterness. Dried apricots on there with a touch of banana, mango and even guava on there. Slight musty Belgian spice at the back, green pepper and a hint of vanilla. Quite delicious, really.

Taste is a little bit off-kilter. Starts sweet and very fruity, with baked apple and apricot notes that become fairly musty on the mid with a slight bland flatness that seems more like the sweetness just diminishes a bit. Late-mid it turns slightly bitter with an uncomfortable capsicaian flavour and an unnuanced phenolic note, sort of the medical astringency without the robustness, just a bit blah. Overall not as sweet as I like my tripels and just lacking in complex mid and late notes, especially for 9%.

A bit of a sizzle on the midway point and throughout, really. Body almost defends against it but not quite. OK though, not harsh.

Yeah, an enjoyable enough beer, and the alcohol is well-hidden. But I was happier smelling and anticipating than I was actually experiencing the flavour.

Chilled bottle poured into a La Fin Du Monde branded glass, a decision reached after someone compared this Triple to the classic from Unibroue.

Body has a striking golden amber hue with a very mild degree of haze. Generated a fluffy 2-finger head upon pout that sits tight and gradually fades away to a solid coating on the surface of the beer with patchy lacing.

Floral hops notes on the nose with a soft degree of skunky odors. Yeast and sticky malts are also strongly evident in the aromatic spectrum which mirrors the fresh smell of freshly cooked dough.

Taste is very much in line with the aroma however the taste is slightly more hops driven than the aroma. Tangy yeast flavors contrast with sticky malt and freshly cooked grain.

The body is moderately weighted with a slight bias towards the heavy. Soft carbonation compliments the body weight well. Definitely falls short of the La Fin Du Monde which it had been compared to, however, its is still a very tasty tripel.
