Light orange with a lacing of foam, that slowly disappears into nothing. A dense flowery and fruity smell; lots of aroma hops doing their thing there. The flowers and fruits from the hops continue in the taste and get company from fruity esters as the beer gets warmer. A whole fruitbasket of flavours is present here: grapefruit, tangerine, pear and melon. A very soft and smooth mouth feel, probably due to the yeast and the oat used. Recently awarded best IPA of Holland, and I tend to agree....

Label has changed and it got a double name. North Sea IPA.
But the beer is the same. Consistent quality of a small brewer. Quite impressive,
330 ml Bottle, 6,5 abv. Pours quite vibrantly., 3-4 finger white had, light amber colour. Medium on carbonation. Micro bulbs.
Smell, grapefruit, little bit of passion fruits, yeast, biscuits. Mouthfeel, yes, other Jopens have a tendency to be too bitter or too sweet. (excpet the original one that started it all that has a great tanginess to it) This is about right.
If you like grapefruit and beer, this is the one for you.
I like grapefruit and I love beer, this is a solid 4 for me.

Sudsy and mouthfilling brew. Fruity aroma with notes of strawberry and roses, even. Fruity with some dark berry taste, and a woodsy finish. Hints of dark plum. Moderately sweet and quite robustly flavored. Distinct but not disturbing bitter aftertaste. This is a good example of an American IPA using who knows what hops. From the 330 ml bottle purchased at a supermarket in Haarlem.

330 ml bottle, at Grand Café-Restaurant Loos, Rotterdam. " A very good choice, Sir" said the waiter, and he was damn right. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of American hops, with notes of oranges, grapefruit and pine. Pleasant and well balanced flavour with the same elements, not too sweet, and not too bitter despite its 70 IBU. Went well with my sole meunière and frites.
