A - Pours a dark pink, light pink fuzzy head that did not last and left little lacing, mostly clear and a nice hue in the light.
S - a sweet, sour funky combo with an acidic bite at the end of the whiff. The sweet is like candy but not in a bad way or artificial
T - Funk right off the bat leading into acidi taste then a cherry pit nuttiness and ending with a slight sweet adn sour combo. Very nice but honestly could have less of the nutty/bitter flavor and more of the sweet adn sour flavors
M/D - Very drinkable, a bit more carbonated than i like. I figured it would settle down but it never did. Light bodied and a bit thin at times.

75cl bottle with friends @ Diest Bierfest 20th Oct 2012.
Pours a true red colour with a salmon pink thin head on top.
Cherries being the main flavouring within the beer, they obviously lead the way in the aroma and taste: not as sour or powerful as say a Rodenbach Grand Cru but this isn't from Flanders and although not sweet either it comes across as an easy going kriekbier that is well crafted and blended nicely. Based I believe around the Loterbol Blonde, but don't quote me on that.
The only kriek we had at the festival and very pleasant it was too.

Roodebol is an amber red beer with a rich and light pink foam that moderate quickly disappears. A thin foam layer floating on islands on the surface. Beer measuring 6.6 alcohol by volume percent. The flavor we find cherries, cherry pits and a spicy hoppy back. The taste is slightly sweet. The cherries are present but leave the beer Loterbol the identity store. Slight alcohol impression. A somewhat sour mouthfeel comes up and is a strong hoppy bitterness, which, together with an efficient cherry

First note, I brought this one to two different tastings, quite a few people remarked about this one lacking in funk, bacterial sourness etc. This is not a sour beer, no lambic or bacteria of any kind was used. This is a fruit beer made with krieken (sour cherries) & shouldn’t really be compared with lambic’s which a lot of people seem to be doing.
Both notes are from 2013.
First bottle 2010 Vintage: 75 cl. sampled. Pours dark raspberry red with a pinkish head. Nose is very full of fruits, more cherry than kriek, light raspberry, almost cloying, very jam-like. Taste is blend of cherries & kriek, less tang than I am used of the kiek (the fruit), light hint of iron (maybe the age), touch thin but very easy to drink, oodles of fruit, somewhat fruit sweety with a jam impression, kriek pits in there, light berries in s pices in the finish. Fine carb. very easy to drink. Could have used a bit more fruit sourness, I feel that the fruit kriek is sourer on its own in general.
Second bottle. Also 2010 Vintage. Also 75 cl. sampled. Total gusher & not bad but not as good as the first time around, bit too metallic & thin, same vintage, keeping previous score for now.
