330ml, 7.1% ABV.
L: Black, lots of carbonation, thick, foaming, tan-coloured head.
S: Toasted malt, black cherry & alcohol.
T: Dark fruit, rich malt, light sweetness but very bitter. Burnt aftertaste.
F: Medium body with some stickiness, a little gassy, astringent.
O: Super malty, super bitter. Ultimately, too drying for me.

Bottle (7.1% ABV). Almost black. Quickly receding tan head.
Sweet aroma of toasted brown bread. Cocoa present.
The initial sweetness recedes to a somewhat charred bitter flavour.
A bit thin for an Extra Stout. Smooth when rolled around the palate but a harsh completion.
The reduction in ABV has not helped.

On tap at De Paas in The Hague. Dark brown pour with a fine-grained tan head with good retention. Smells like milk chocolate, coffee, molasses and caramel. Tastes like caramel, licorice, roasted malts, coffee and milk chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium carbonation and a cocoa-sweet aftertaste.
