This is a decent place to get a beer in College Station. The only other place worth any note other than the great O'Bannon's Taphouse in College Station (not sure about Bryan). It is pretty much a sports bar that is dimly lit. Some brewery mirrors on the wall. A couple of pool tables, and a wood bar. Lots of TV's. The beer list is above average. They use to have Fuller's Porter, though last time I was there it was gone. Some Belhaven, and other easily available British beers (think Bass and Boddingtons). There are a couple of taps for Saint Arnold's as well. There bottle highlights for me are Chimay and Sam Smith. Plenty of BMC on tap and in bottles. The kegs are not always fresh though. The food is just typical pub grub with some British flare to it. Overall, just the typical American sports bar/British pub combination that has an above average selection. Though, if you want a really good beer bar, go to O'Bannon's.

Food:
As for the food, this is not the place to go. The quality of the food is inconsistent from day to day and a bit pricey. The best food option there would be an appetizer or one of the burgers.

Service:
As with the food it is inconsistent. I have had some great service both from the bar tenders and the waitresses but all in all they are a bit 'stand offish.' They tend not to be too helpful if you have a concern.

Beer Selection:
Probably the best selection in town, however they tend to be out of certain beers often.

Overall:
My biggest issue is the price of beer is way to high (5.25 for 16oz Belhaven Ale/ 5.05 for Murphy's Stout). In addition to that their pour style is 'just let it over flow the glass until the head is at the proper level. The best time to go is on Thursday nights for the $2 American pints.

I go on Thursdays from time to time for $2 pint night. I just drink Stone IPA and SN PA. The selection is okay. They have some St. Arnolds, and a few others that OBannon's dosn't have.

I've seen a few fights there before so if you like that then the atmosphere is pretty cool. Lots of what I call "Tap Out Bros" there so be prepared for Affliction shirts and UFC gloves on people.

The waitresses are awful! I've had one call my friend an ass because he made a harmless joke to her, one refuse to serve me because I complained the time before. I still tipped her 50% to show I was sorry but she still ignores me. I just walk up to the bar and order now.

All in all this is a place to go when the beer is cheap and you have your guard up. I'm not a fan but my friends are so I go along.

Fox & Hound is where I do most of my beer drinking. They have the largest selection of beers anywhere in Bryan or College Station, with reasonably good monthly rotation. When they're not too crowded (i.e. not Thursday nights), the pours are pretty good, though you shouldn't expect glassware other than a pint tumbler. The waitresses seem to be hired for looks more than beer knowledge, unfortunately, but most of them are friendly and helpful enough to (mostly) make up for their ignorance. Every Thursday is $2.00 pints of almost everything they have on tap (Chimay White and sometimes one or two others excepted). Tip: Go before 7pm on Thursdays, before it gets full of college kids who order as much Bud Light as anything else.

Fox & Hound is also the only place in B-CS with both a decent beer selection AND consistently good food; my personal favorite is the Black Forest sandwich. I have lunch there about once a week. Tip: If you go for lunch, ask for a Pub Club Card--one free lunch for every five you buy. On Mondays they'll stamp it twice; so you can potentially get one out of four lunches free!

On the whole, a pretty good pub, and one of the best in this town.

I really enjoy going to the F&H. I've been to other locations, in other cities and this one has been the best. On Thursday nights they have $2 pint night on any beer on tap. Quite a bargain since they have many beers on tap (they claim 80). My complaints: they don't always have everything on tap. And many times it taste as though they've had the same keg on tap for a while. If it is not a busy night they tend to play the music way too loud and it makes it difficult to socialize and order drinks. It's also a gamble as to whether or not the music is good as well. You should also watch out for the ever so common "incompitent waitress". I've had a few that are not familiar with the selection of brews on tap and instead of checking with the bar they just claim that they don't carry that beer. It's happened often enough to where I just don't argue and walk up to the bar to order if they give me problems.

All that being said, it's the only bar in CS that carries a wide assortment of styles (from local breweries to other craft breweries around the world) and is well priced enough that you can find me there almost every thursday night.
