Call it what it is, and it is NOT an English pub by any stretch of the imagination. What it is is an upscale bar with lots of TVs, pool tables, and cigarette smoke. Food is generally good. However, it lacks any of the atmosphere and conviviality of a traditional English pub.

Visited recently after a classmate had let it slip that Thursdays were $2 pints across the board (with the exception of one Belgian; can't remember the name). Figured it was worth a shot.

A: Nothing special; just a giant room with a crapload of TVs. Pulled up a seat at the bar, and the guy sitting next to me (friendly as he was) smoked for half the time he was sitting there. Not a fan of smoke overpowering the smell of the suds in front of me.

Q: Not bad. I ordered two pints, both of which were served up in standard (looking) room temperature pint glasses. I didn't take a real close look, but I have a feeling they may have been smaller than 16oz. But between the nice unbranded glassware, the fact that they weren't pulled out of a freezer, and the fact that the beer tasted like it came from clean tap lines, I'll give them good marks on quality.

S: Two points off immediately for not carding me. I'm 24, but can easily pass for 20, and this place is in the heart of a college town. Completely irresponsible for not carding someone who could easily be an underage student. Third point off for the snarky comments from the bartender about how she'd "just keep refilling that water until I was finally ready to drink again". Told her when I came in that I was just looking to try a quick pint; ended up ordering two instead and was apparently pegged as being in it for the long run.

F: didn't try anything. Menu is pretty pricey ($8.50 for the cheapest sandwich), and I was there specifically for the low price on the beer.

V: everything else said, I still ended up enjoying a pint of Fat Tire and a pint of Ziegen Bock for $2 each. Never paid less than $3 for a pint of anything before, so I'll give them good marks on the pricing - just as long as you go on a Thursday.

I enjoyed this bar. It has a decent selection on tap. It has some sam smith, chimany, and another nice brand of beers that escapes me at the moment. I had a sunshine wheat pint for 2 dollars. The service was good, but they didn't leave enough head in my beers. My sam adams was poured with very little head. :(. Oh well.

This place was very very nice and well kept up. I was very very impressed. The atmosphere was incredible. I would definetly like to visit this place again. Check it out if you are ever in lubbock.
