Visited this place after hearing/seeing rave reviews. Did not live up to expectations.

Food was good, typical pub food with some other offerings but nothing too special nor fancy. Over 20 taps, didn't check out the bottle selection. They had some good stuff on tap, which I was impressed with, but that was about the only thing that set this place apart from typical pubs.

My main gripe was with the service. We all ordered beer and my friend put in for an appetizer. No one came for 5-10 mins or so until another server delivered the appetizer. I asked to order food and she told me she'd get our waiter. He didn't come to take our food order until we had all finished our first beer and my friend was finished with his appetizer, a good 20 mins (at least) after sitting down. We all asked for separate checks and when we got the bill my friend's food and another friend's two beers were on my bill, also the food my friend ordered was $5 more on the bill than it was listed as on the menu. After 10 mins of trying to get the waiter's attention I tracked him down and he apologized about the error but said it was a typo on the menu and he couldn't do anything about it. He gave us some cheap merchandise to compensate. My friend said he'd rather just not come back instead of causing a scene. Fortunately on our way out the manager came and alleviated the issue.

I'm going to go back and give it another shot (I realize it wasn't the waiter's fault it was packed and there was a typo on the menu), but if the service is that poor again, I'll probably just stick to the other couple decent places in the area for my beer needs.

The Brick Store Pub and The Porter are definitely tied in my book in regards to the widest beer selection in Metro Atlanta.

I like to look through the bottle list at the Brick Store Pub, but I usually end up going with something on tap.

The food is good, and the menu has something for everyone. But I think The Porter has a bit more of an eclectic menu, which appeals more so to me. I have yet to have anything bad to eat at the Brick Store.

The atmosphere is nice too. I like to sit in the upstairs Belgian Beer bar, since it feels like I'm sitting in some sort of old-world European bar.

Just got back from the Brick Store Pub. Probably my favorite Beer Bar in Atlanta, and possibly anywhere. Very cool place. The atmosphere is "old European" pub-esque. The service is friendly, if not a little on the slow side. The nice part is that they rent in any hurry to get you out, which I really appreciate.

Their beer list is second to none. Their cellar contains a variety of Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, Fantome, just to name a few. I had a superb 2008 Stille Nacht. I didn't see a lot that they didn't have.

The earlier, dinner crowd, was mid thirties and older. As the evening moved along, the crowd go younger, but wasn't "out of control".

Prices were inline with any beer bar. Yeah...if you want Cantillon, expect to pay premium. No surprise there, but the prices were in line, if not a hair better than other places I've been to.

Try it..you'll like it!

I didn't eat much here, just a pretzel with some pimento cheese that was delicious. I just have to throw that out there before I talk about the beer.

Some locals drove me out here as a must-visit when in Atlanta. I couldn't agree more. If you like beer, or better yet, love beer, than you must pay homage.

Downstairs is a spacious hall packed with folks stuffing their faces and enjoying some good craft beer. I made my way by all these folks and headed upstairs where people were mingling more freely and the space seemed much more dedicated to the beer drinker. This area is their Belgian Bar, where beer from or inspired by Belgium reigns supreme.

St. Bernardus Abt 12 caught my eye immediately, as it's a beer I've always heard good things about, wanted to try, and does not distribute to New Mexico. I ordered one for a reasonable price (>$10) and sat back enjoying it while admiring the tavern-like atmosphere of the Brick Store Pub. The walls were indeed brick and the wooden posts running across the ceiling made the place feel much like drinking in a dim-lit attic.

Ordering another round, I opted for a local option, newcomer 3 Taverns that operates right down the road, and their A Night in Brussels Belgian IPA. The beer was downright impressive and I made several comments about how much I liked it to my local hosts. Little did I know the head brewer/owner of 3 Taverns was sitting at the next table overhearing my convo (good thing I liked the beer). He came over and introduced himself and talked beer. Cool stuff.

Overall, I love the atmosphere, love the beer selection, the concept, and what I tasted of the food.

Plus, the vaulted "cellar" room full of white whales is enough to turn the hardcore beergeek into a Belgian diamond thief, pulling the ultimate heist to get at some of the rare and hard-to-find beers.

Great effing spot.

The atmosphere at Brick Store Pub is great. It makes me feel like I'm in a pub somewhere in Europe instead of Decatur (though, I've never been in one, so I'm only guessing).

The beers on tap are always good, and I enjoy the dedicated Belgian bar upstairs with nothing but Belgians on tap. The cellar is where this place shines; it's by far the best in the state, barring someone's private cellar (and even then I'm not so sure it would beat Brick Store's).

The service has always been good for me, but not always so personable. Also, when they get busy it can be impossible to get service sometimes. I understand what it's like to be busy at a restaurant having worked in the industry, but sometimes it's ridiculous.

The food is alright. It's definitely better pub fare than normal, but I still find it lacking. It's strange because their sister restaurant around the corner, Leon's, has really good food. Oh well, I go to Brick Store for the beer and the cellar, not the food.

Probably the coolest atmosphere of any beer bar I've been to. Very good selection of beer on tap, and the food is pretty good as well (though I would have liked larger portions for the price). The service was so-so, though this was likely due to how crowded it was that night. Highly recommended.

I have been to the Brick Store on a handful of occasions. Sure there are places with more taps than this place but the selection is generally top notch. The beer list is quite impressive also. What I really enjoy is the cellar beer list.. There some serious whalz...
Food is fantastic also. I have had the pimento cheese which was damn good. The Shepard's daughter's pie was tasty as well.
If I had a complaint is the service. If you are at the bar you are good to go. The 2 times I have had to sit at a table the service was virtually invisible.
Overall this is a classy place, good beer that is well priced for a bar and food as well.
In my opinion this is a must stop to anyone that has the chance.

Of course I had to go the famous Brick Store in my one and only visit to Decatur. It was rather busy in a weekday evening, but the wife and I found a seat at the bar... she had been there a couple of nights before and the friendly bartender remembered her.

The atmosphere is cozy and warm, kind of dark, feels like a place frequented by locals... it's got that hunting-lodge feel. Tables at the front, then the bar and an upstairs area with more tables.

I counted 15 taps (not the 25 BA lists): Allagash Interlude, Brooklyn Black Choco Stout, Bruery 5 Golden Rings, Founders Backwood Bastard, Westbrook IPA, Mikkeller From Via To... plus a bunch of Belgians.

Servers are sort of hipster-ish/hippie-ish, what with their beards and plaid shirts, but they're all approachable and cool. Ravi Shankar playing on the stereo to boot! Weird and cool.

I wasn't super impressed with this place but I'm glad I stopped by and checked it out. Next time I'll go to Leon's and see what's up.

I've been here twice and enjoyed both visits immensely. On my first visit they were extremely busy and we had to wait for 15 minutes for a table, but we still had good service. The last time they weren't busy at all and our server had time to suggest beers and he seemed fairly knowledgeable.

I've had the fish and chips and the chicken tenders and both were really good for pub food.

BUT, if you're at the Brick Store Pub you're probably there for the BEER and their selection does not disappoint . Great selection of taps and bottles. If there is a new special release, they probably have it. They have proper glassware and even match the glassware to the brewery when possible. Belgian bar upstairs. What else could you ask for?

I'll continue to visit the Brick Store Pub when in the area.

This is my favorite place to take out-of-town people, or my "beer friends" that want to step out. I have been ~6 times, and every time it is better and better. I was initially brought by friends who know one of the owners, and got quite a nice tour. But they are open to every one looking into the "upstairs cellar," which has an amazing variety of vintages, and many beers you can't just "find" in GA.

Awesome place!
