Pours a caramel imbued copper from a bottle. Perhaps more of a slightly weathered copper in fact. Pours clear and with a nice half inch of off white foam. Shows god retention and lace.
Nose is skewed toward the caramel malts and is slightly askew. Not quite sure where this beer is going and I'm not sure it's a positive thing. A dark amber yet not a dubbel, it being a Belgian Strong Dark seems a bit at odds to the beer. Belgian yeast notes are rather thin though the spritzy bottle conditioning is pleasant.
Taste is muddled and inconclusive. Notable caramel notes, quite sweet and almost bock like in nature. Again more of a Bock than a BSDA.
Overall a bit cloudy and chalky in feel with lots of muddled caramel. Unsure of age or condition but more of an amateurish amber/bock than Belgian in nature. So-so.

A red/brown beer with a small head and some yeast flakes.
Smell is roasted with liquorice and a nice maltiness and caramel base.
Taste is malty (like a mash) and caramellic with a very small sour note. This reminds me of candy sugar. According to the label, there is laurel and rye in the beer, but I can't taste it. Body is medium and the beer is sticky.
All together this tastes more like a bok to me.

Number two for tonight and again a beer from the halve maan. Inpression like the bok, smell also malty but a bit fresher and maybe a bit of hoptraces. Taste sweet, malty and sweet again with the hops missing again.... almost feesls like I have another of the same.... dull beer like the bock
