On-tap at the Beer Temple, on to the beer:

This pilsner has a pale gold color with thick soapy head which retains well and leaves patchy lacing around the glass. Its aroma gives a kiss of hoeny, hay, grass, the three mixing together well. A little more intense in the mouth as the nose, the sensation of crisp hops hits along with a modest pale malt base and a snap of grass.

I liked this quite a bit.

One of the better pilseners out there. One of the more popular, and somewhat more premium, beers in The Netherlands. Fresh, tasteful and easy.

It won't be like any special beer or anything, but it's better then the Weihenstephaner original which has like 90+ rating here ... Hard to understand.

On tap at the Tir Nan Og in Kingston. A new addition to the tap lineup for the summer season that they ended up continuing.

Poured into a branded Hertog glass (sort of a stein with concave sides). Light golden, good head of froth, decent lacing. Carbonation visible.

Nose is faint malt, bittering hops, apple and herbs. Emphasis on the faint.

Not a bad macro pilsner by any stretch. Tastes fine, nothing jumping out at me as being out of place. A touch above the usual canned suspects out there. A touch of hop bitterness to the finish. Light bodied, mild-to-vigorous carbonation.

There's some flavour here, I'll give it that, and I drank the pint happily with incredible ease. Still, I can't help but feel that his brew could really have been something special, if it had gone more than a single trepidatious step beyond the run-of-the-mill.

Pretty much just a very ordinary pilsner.

Pours deeper yellow than many other pils, moderate head, some decent lacing early on.

Undistinguished nose and taste, but stands up better than your typical macro brew.

Take it or leave it. The kind of thing pretty much anybody will drink.
