Amber colour, beige head that looks strong, good carbonation. Lacing in the glass.
Dominant smell of caramel and slightly roasted malts. Some floral notes in the background.
Taste is actually quite fresh. It's sweet but has some bitterness.
Drink is very smooth and easy going down.
A positive surprize. For the style it's very decent, and from this particular brewery it's a very good product.

Bottle of 300 ml at home.
Copper colour, with an one finger brownish head.Average activity in the glass. The head doesn't leave any lacing as it disappears.
Fruity aroma and some caramel.
Sweet taste. The sweetness lingers for quite a while in the mouth.
Average thickness on the body, feels a bit sticky on the palate once swallowed, average carbonation.

2007 vintage, opened in 2011. I kind of forgot it in my cellar….
Look: the beer pours a copper color with almost no head
Smell: malts, honey and lot of caramel
Taste: malts, sweet honey, toffee and caramel with some light spicy hop in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: low carbonation, smooth and sticky body
Overall: The beer mellowed a lot because of the age, but I like it more than the fresh one, nicely sweet and balanced, almost a light real (English) Barley wine

Brown 30cl bottle, best before the end of Sept 2010, drank and reviewed on 14th sept 2010. Obtained in Valkenburg, Holland.

Poured into a vase shaped 'Paderborner Gold Pilsner' flute. Good amber body with an impressive looking tan coloured foaming head. Some good lacing remained as the head retreated to a collar and the beer level dropped.

Malt molasses dominate the nose, some alcohol hints too.

Fairly sweet up front, those aforementioned molasses being the main culprits. The alcohol doesn't hide though and as the mouth dries the 6.5% really comes at you. Only a slight hop presence could I detect, the malty sweetness overpowering whatever hops were in the brew.

Body a little on the thin side, which is why the alcohol can be detected so easily. Is it as good as those Munich beers that all end with 'ator'? Not far off in my opinion.

Amber in color with plenty of carbonation and a thin head.

A typical Bock aroma, very malty and sweet, with a slight hoppy accent and a few salty notes.

When tasted, it is a lot sweeter and fuller, a bit sticky even. Hop presence naturally is minimal. Finish is a bit spicy with a sweetness lingering that is slightly cloying and a bit artificial-like even. Nicely carbonated.

Not a bad beer, but missing out on some depth. I suspect it will taste much better on tap.

A clear, copper colored beer with little visible carbonation and a thin head.

Smell is very malty with light honey and caramel notes, it appears to be quite 'German'.

Taste is very malty sweet with a nice hop 'bite', which balanced the malty taste. Nice and clean bottom fermentation notes, which is low in esters. Mouthfeel is a little too sweet for me.

Its a beer style i'm unfamilar with and whats worse i'm drinking it whilst stuffing my self with peanut butter on toast.
It tastes like a superlager with more hops - which i guess is what it is, a strong alcohol beer but not alcoholic enough to completely mask the beer underneath. Has a nice mouth-feel/taste but is followed up with a combination hops/sweet alcohol aftertaste. Its far from disgusting in fact the further i get down the bottle the better it is tasting...perhaps one for somebody who appreciates more and knows more than I do about the nature of the Bock.
