For clarity's sake, this is a review of the '07 reserve.
A: Pours a beautiful murky golden red with a creamy head, which dissipates rather quickly. Leaves a little bit of lacing on the glass that looks really nice.
S: I smell mostly a subtly sugary malt at first, but a hint of citrus comes through as well.
T: Very nice balance here. Grapefruit hops with a sweet, bready caramel, finish. It's really hard to believe this weighs in at a 9% ABV, because, while I can tell it's there, I really don't taste a lot of alcohol here. This isn't a very complex beer, but it's certainly a good tasting beer, and a really nicely balanced one, too.
M: Light-bodied, but substantial. Much smoother than it feels like it has a right to be. As near perfect as I could imagine for this particular beer.
D: I'm probably going to finish this bottle without even thinking about it, which is probably a bad thing as far as my health and sobriety are concerned. I'll find myself wondering where all that brainpower I had a few minutes ago went, and realize that, yes, I really did drink this whole thing that fast. The drinkability here is excellent.

22oz : tulip
Pours a murky, burnt-orange, brown color with a thin, foamy off white head.
Aroma and taste are sweet, syrupy toffee, caramel malts.
Medium body, faint, foamy carbonation.
A decent beer when aged, but it just doesn't have a whole lot going on at the 2-year mark in my opinion and I've come to the conclusion that I prefer it fresh.
