Served up with a thin bubbly and tan head, red-brown in color. The smell is mainly of sweet floral hops. The taste is pretty bland up front - followed by a small kick of hops in the aftertaste, but not much. I found it pretty refreshing. Not any taste of alcohol so it's pretty drinkable.

Dark pour, some red and brown, a little dark orange. Man, this is one of those beers you don't see coming in terms of what it looks like, I was expecting yellow beer. Aroma was a bit phenolic alcohol.

Taste, has that lager yeast thing going for it first and foremost, not my favorite thing about the beer, kind of a peaty red malt aftertaste in the mouthfeel comes later. Very herbal. Toffee. Tea. Crumpets. A little chewy, but at the end of the day it was a bock, and I just have some bias against them, even the great ones I'm just not down with, I think Sam Adams Chocolate Bock is wonderful (which most do not) so take my review with a grain of salt if you're a bock guy. I think this beer is good enough for people making a gateway step, the alcohol and yeast are just little detractors for me.

brown, very clear with lots of carbonation, really quite nice and a classic look for a bock. Thin off white head formed on the top, but quickly faded to just a thin film that stayed throughout the session, but offered no side glass contribution.

The aroma was your classic malty bock. Nice sweet caramel and nutty aromas mixed in with a good earthy tone. The flavor followed through very closely with a nice bitter malty flavor and a good amount of sweetness in it as well. Carbonation that is more then decent never let it go flat and kept you entertained throughout the session

Pours a bright amber, almost ruby with a 3-finger, frothy off-white head. Moderate, sticky lacing.

Smell is strongly roasted caramel malts. The taste is caramel, dark fruits, and a slight floral bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, not as thick or smooth as I would expect in a bock.

This is a drinkable bock. It's not anything that will blow you away, but it's a descent example of the style.

Appearance: pours a reddish amber color with a 1" head.

Smell: caramel sweentess is all you can pull from the glass.

Taste: light bready malt profile with some caramel, black plum, and a mild bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp to start, a bit less crisp at the finish. Aftertaste is very short lived.

Drinkability: this beer was very easy to drink. Well balanced too. Worthy of a try.

Usually only see LTD #02 everywhere... and am finally trying this....

- Pours a rather dark red and brown clear.... foamy white head down to a few floating continents. Nice ring with some very minor lace.

- Very grainy smell with some bitter hops.... very much a Full Sail brew.... almost a slight meaty smell too... can't say it's really a good thing. Earthy.. grainy, robust...

- Smooth sailing lager.... very creamy and grainy.... sweet... a slight corn touch with a dark sweet malt.. light bittering hop... little bit of pine. Interesting earthy and meatiness to it.

- Medium bodied... somewhat creamy... chewy, and slightly dry. Like a meal in a bottle.

- Overall it is a very good lager aside from the meaty flavor... a bit sweet... but overall smooth, and easy to drink for its strength. I must say though.. I think I like the #02 better... though it seemed very corny to me.

Pours a deep bock color. Not a lot of carbonation, kinda need to throw it in to get some head

Malty in its scent, not bad

Taste is somewhat thick. Pretty solid, some caramel flavors

Drinkability is ok. I could put a few of them back but not as drinkable as I'd like a 6-pack beer to be. ABV is a bit high for a session but I normally don't have more than a couple at a time anyway.

Served in an Ayinger Celebrator doppelbock glass.

The glass welcomes an amber-tinted light brown capped by a quickly shy bit of off-bright foam. My nose is hit by a .357 Magnum shot of caramel, coffee, toffee (it's fun to rhyme!), oak, and pecans. I'm glad it's fun to rhyme, 'cause it's the coffee and toffee, runnin' 'round as the Offee twins, wanted dead or alive (they still ride), that come crashin' into Tasty Town. I don't know who named the place, but who the hell cares? I mean, there's only a handful o' residents, anyway. A good amount of lace comes rollin' 'cross the glass boulevard as the Offee twins proceed to ransack the town. Or, at least, that's what the sensationalist press wants us to believe: In truth, the Twins are cleanin' up the town, gettin' rid o' the nastier elements of society. Unsurprisingly, a clean, though decidedly Twin-infused finish results, the proper end to the smooth ride the townsfolk all witnessed out their windows. As they leave, the people of Tasty Town all glare at the sunset before them, hoping that the Twins return sooner rather than later. Only time will tell, folks...

From notes. Crystal clear amber, and reddish copper when backlit. Head makes a brief appearance then dissolves to rind and film. Very inviting and attractive.

Caramel malt mainly. But with a hint of hops, a dash of booze, and a nip of hay bale graininess add some depth.

Tastes alot like what I said about the nose.

Well carbonated, medium bodied, and quite rich and viscous for a lager. Finishes clean, and there is a bit of warming and some creeping dryness.

Tasty and easy drinking. More than 1 is not a problem. I generally don't favor lagers too much (notable exceptions excluded), but I dig this one and get a sixer or two whenever it comes around.

Well, this is a nice beer. A light brown/reddish clean pour topped with a dense off-brown head. Rich looking. Aroma is a tad weak for the style. I get some earthiness. Almonds, some musky grain and fresh caramel.
Darn good flavor, yet perhaps a bit too balanced from the hops. The malt is rich but not over powering. It's smooth and the muskiness isn't in the flavor. Caramel isn't too sweet and the nuttiness is just off to the side a bit.
That's good imho.
A clean feeling to it, smooth. This is very easy drinking.
Good choice here.
