A: a medium-light copper beer with excellent clarity. An agressive pour gives about a finger of creamy, off-white with a decent retention time.

S: Rich malt aroma that has a some bready character and a moderate spicy, Saaz hops aroma. A clean lager without fruitiness, diacetyl or DMS.

T: A very flavorful lager with a balanced, moderate malt and hops flavors. The hops are spicy and the bitterness is at a moderatly light level. The balance is even. The finish is dry with a hops flavor in the aftertaste.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a bit crisp.

O: A very flavorful lager with the flavor of malt, spicy hops and hops bitterness all balanced.

Clear amber colored ale with a tall tan colored head.

Smell is malty with a fairly strong burnt sugar aroma. Herbal hop scent. Faint spicy aroma. Scent of grass.

Starts out mild and malty. Caramel and some scorched sugars. Hop bitterness is about at the knifes edge between low and medium.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall not a bad malty lager. Would like a bit more hop bite but this is OK.

12oz cold bottle into pint glass

Just a quick review here because I'm feeling lazy...

Wonderfully balanced Vienna style lager. Medium body with soft carbonation, lots of bready, toasty malt goodness balanced out with some nice and spicy/floral hops, tinge of sweetness, but finishes nice and dry with those noble hops lingering a bit.

I could definitely session this beer all day - it reminds me a lot of Boston Lager, except I think this Full Sale offering tastes and feels superior, especially on the finish. I'll be seeking out more for sure.

Poured from the bottle (7/5/12 date) into a pint glass

A - Pours a deep, perfectly transparent amber with a few streams of minuscule bubbles rising to the two finger, tan head. Head stays intact must of the way down the glass. Only leaves behind a few small splotches of lacing at the bottom of the glass.

S - Not much upon opening the bottle - just some clean malt with hints of honey. Things open up a bit more in the glass, but the basic notes remain the same.

T - Here is where things start turning around. Sweet malt upfront. The body is decent blend of honey bourbon and modest earthy hop notes laid on top of a sweet malt backdrop. Splash of earthy hops and aged wood as the beer passes over the back of the tongue and leads to a sweet and malty finish with subtle hints of smoked peat.

M - Medium bodied with not quite enough carbonation to match the flavor profile. This may be partially my fault for letting it age past its prime, so I'll cut it a little slack here.

LTD #5 is a solid beer and has lots of characteristics that remind me of my all-time favorite amber: Full Sail Amber. After the initial let down of a nose no better than you're average middle-of-the-road "craft" (e.g. Dundee) lager, I was pleasantly surprised to find a relatively complex and interesting flavor profile. I would consider adding this (probably as a last option) to a mix-a-six again.

Poured from a bottle into glass mug.

Apperance of a nice deep red orange. Condensed foamy thick head, did not dissipate too quick. Smells of roasted malt some marshmellows. Roasted malt of coffee and dark chocolate off the bat, maybe even marshmellows, smooth lager finish, not even week at 6 percent abv. Barely any hop bitterness, like the malty dominance. Good medium body mouth feel with great carbonation, it does look like a mini aquarium in my mug of bubbles like a good beer should, who likes a flat beer huh? Overall a good brew especially for the red or amber beer color fans.
