Poured into a pint.

Color is an earthy copper. Head was thick and frothee - the color of cafe au lait

Smell was pretty well balanced - hoppy, malty, fruity, and spicey. Tart apple and citrus, molasses, nutmeg, allspice.

Tasty follows the nose closely - hoppy but the bitterness is subdued by the sweetness of the roasted malts. I gave this a 3 because of the aftertaste. Not sure if my bottle was from last holiday season, but it was not pleasant. I think it may just be the combo of the malts with the tart fruit flavors.

Mouthfeel is smooth. Lightly carbonated and refreshing.

Only issue is the aftertaste. Other than that, a pretty good attempt at a hoppy, rich, malty winter ale. Want to try again to see of the one I had was skunked. Cheers

22oz bomber in a tall pint glass. Well within freshness date.

A- Nice amber color, bright and clear. 1f off-white head, sticky lacing. Little evidence of carbonation.

S-Sweet caramel malts, some alcohol. Hops deliver some spice aroma, some citrus, orange rind, pine.

T- Some sweet winter breads, citrus hops.

M- Light, drinkable body with more better carbonation than it shows. Finishes dry enough.

O- Good enough: drinkable and the winter ale/ ipa mix works.
