This is going to be difficult to review because I am not very familiar with the Weissbier style.

Obviously, this is sour, which may be the goal.

Feel is crispy with a slight zing at the back of the throat.

Head is minimal but apparently not expected of the style.

Flavors are definitely lemony. I wonder how this pares with the syrups as described in the treatment of Weissbiers in Berlin.

I like the smell. Seems clean, lemony.

Even though it's supposed to be sour, I can't say the taste of this beer by itself is something I shoot for in a beer.

Perhaps this is a true connoisseur's beer. I won't know till later. ;)

I remember this was one of my first American berliner efforts. Pours a yellow color with 1/2" white head that recedes into oblivion. The aroma was a light lemon effect and not much in terms of wheat beyond that.

The taste is weak, even for a berliner. Its watery. Its super mild. On the 10 pt berliner sour scale, this one is like a 2. Too watery to really have a dry mouth feel. The wheat continues to be understated, like everything in genre.

Only good thing is this was affordable, but I'd gladly pay twice as much for a superior product, as this is a below average interpretation of a berliner weisse. There is just some mild lemon notes over a boring base beer that is watery. Just lacking in the malt, tart, body, bitter aspects. I guess the carbonation was fine. Ingredients seemed lacking all around.

Avoid.

Bordering a Belgian witbier, this is a decent approximation of the Berliner weisse style. The tartness is there, in the background, not upfront like a Kindl Weisse. I’d like to try this with some of the German flavor syrups. Pale golden with thin foamy head (short-lived). Body is light, flavor is wheat bread with some citrusy tartness. Finish is slightly dry. Refreshing on a hot day.

A: Gold with a slight haze under a pure white head. S: Lemon bread, light funk
T: Lemony tart with light bread.
F: Light, refreshing and very effervescent.
O: This is not as lemony and mouth puckeringly sour as some Berliner Weisse and it also has more malt and wheat character which for many, is a good thing.

Scored a six pack of bombers from a friend that aged them for 2+ years (drink by date of 9/12) because he didn't like them but didn't want to throw them away...needless to say, this beer has aged very well!!!

Color- light hazy gold. Medium head.

Aroma- earthy, grainy with lemon zest and hint of radish.

Taste- An interesting and complex brew. Starts tart yet clean like a mild sour Flemish ale with hint of lemon, then turn clean and almost lager like but finishes with a mild lingering wheatiness. A truly unusual and complex brew unlike anything we've had before. Don't drink too cold. Another in the Brewer's Share series.

Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass).

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a tawny color with surprising clarity. Cloudy is expected here. Bubbly white head holds for a little while at and inch in height, but eventually falls. No lacing.

S: Grainy and bready on the nose. Mild grape skin aroma and a mild acidic tartness. Very bland.

T: Lemony tartness up front. Tart white grape. Papery oxidation. This is quickly overtaken by wheaty, doughy, bready, and cereal grains. Finish is more of the same.

M: Thin body. No real substance at all. Tight carbonation brings a very light and soft scrub.

O: This bottle is over a year old, but I've heard of Berliners lasting up to a couple of years. At least the ones that actually use Brett. This did not hold up, but even still I doubt it was very good in the first place. Not tart enough and seriously lacking substance all around.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a wine glass.

A: Golden hue. Light carbonation. Slight bubbly head, quickly settles leaving nothing. No lacing.

S: Banana, honey, and yeast.

T: Yeasty with a slight bit of fermented raspberry, tinged with a hint of sweetness.

M: Light and crisp. Feels a bit shallow. Washed-out finish.

D: Sessionable.

Atmosphere is okay. No real head or lacing. Nose is light tropical fruit and bread. Yeasty, with a little tart and sweet fruit. Overall, this is an okay quaff.
